PFT Green In - Ground Station - Single is a durable baiting station in green color that works with granular and liquid baits. It will provide a discreet and low profile station for monitoring, trapping, and baiting crawling insects and slugs, as well as for high-volume liquid ant baiting. It’s made of high-quality, tamper-resistant material with an exceptional design that guarantees to reduce evaporation of bait and ensures to keep debris and excess moisture out. Its 14-ounce cup can be easily removed if you wish to clean it and you don’t need to take the station out from the ground. It also comes with an anchor to help secure it and make sure it stays in place.
The top rim of the Base has four slots for the four ‘foot’ portions of the Cover. Insert two adjacent feet into the wider part of two adjacent slots and then snap the other two feet into their slots by pressing the legs lightly inward while pushing the Cover down. Rotate the Cover counterclockwise in the slots to lock in place. To remove the Cover, rotate it clockwise to unlock and then press in on two adjacent legs and lift to remove the feet. The other two feet will then simply lift out.
Make a hole using an auger (2” is sufficient, widening the hole at the top) or an adequately sized bulb planter and trowel. The hole should be about 3 1/2” at the top and can taper to about 2” at the bottom and should be about 6” deep. Push the Station down into the hole so that the outer rim of the Base is at ground level. Make sure the hole is sufficiently deep so that the Cup is not pushed up in the Base - this will make it hard to get the Cover on properly. For extra security, drive two Spikes (included) into two of the square holes in the rim of the Base. Use holes opposite from one another and drive the Spikes so that they angle outward from the Station.
Pour the bait in through the hole in the Retainer Ring (liquid, granular, or gel). (For some baits, it may be easier to remove the Retainer Ring and put the bait directly in the Cup.) The Feeding Sponge will wick up liquid baits. Putting a couple of trails of bait on top of the Retainer Ring, from the hole out to the edge of the Station and/or scattering some granular bait on the ground around the Station will help ants find the bait more quickly. The bait can be refilled though the hole in the Retainer Ring. If desired, the Cup can be removed and cleaned by just removing the Retainer Ring - no need to pull the whole Station out of the ground. Place the PFT Station in areas where ants forage, such as near mounds, in landscaped beds and around the perimeter of structures. Spacing and frequency will depend on the nature and severity of the infestation. The PFT Station will minimize the evaporation of liquid baits and will substantially extend the life of granular baits over scattering on the ground, by keeping granules dry and minimizing air exposure.
The PFT Station can be used as a straight blunder trap, with no attractants, for monitoring purposes. Water or oil can be put in the Cup to ensure no escapes. In times of heavy rains, you may be better off putting a couple of drainage holes in the bottom of the Cup. For trapping, beer is an excellent attractant for slugs and also for many insects. Other attractants, suitable for what you want to catch, can also be used. Place the PFT Station around the perimeter for monitoring purposes. Space every 30-50 feet. For trapping, place the stations in the areas where the target pest is active - for example in garden areas for slugs.
Which liquid should I buy for monster size carpenter ants for PFT Green In - Ground Station - Single Station?
We would recommend using a combination of a liquid(sweet) and granule(protein) bait if treating for Carpenter Ants away from the home. The PFT Green In - Ground Station does not allow both baits to be offered at the same time, only one or the other. Carpenter ants usually forage during the night so it is recommended that you apply the bait just before sunset on a night when rain is not expected.
If you are finding carpenter ants crawling on the exterior of your home you can treat the entire perimeter to eliminate the colony. We strongly recommend you use a non-repellent spray such as Taurus SC.

Will the PFT Green In - Ground Station - Single Station pitfall trap work for billbugs?
The PFT Green In - Ground Station l is labeled for ants, crawling insects, and slugs for which there is an appropraite bait. Since billbugs feed on grass and other small plants, there is not a bait product to use in a station like this for them.
