    Q
how far does Pramitol leach after it is applied to the ground?
Yes I wanted to know how far Pramitol spreads in the soil after it is applied as directed. I know there is not an exact answer because it will depend on the type of soil it is applied to but I was wondering is there a rule of thumb I can use. I want to apply is along my gravel driveway next to monkey grass to keep the weeds from growing along the side but do not know if it is safe or not?
    A

Pramitol 25E is a known leecher but how far it will depends on the amount of rain the area receives in a year. We would recommend not applying but you will need to stay at least 10 feet away, if not more depending on the slope of your property and how much rain is expected.

    Q
How long does Pramitol 25E Herbicide take to be waterproof
    A

When using Pramitol 25E Herbicide, you actually want it to rain. This product will not provide herbicidal action in the treated area unless application is immediately followed by watering the area with at least ¼" of water or application of the product just prior to a rain event sufficient to penetrate to the root system of the target vegetation.

    Q
Can Pramitol 25E Herbicide be used before rain?
    A

Yes, rainfall or watering in the Pramitol 25E after the application is recommended to help push the product deeper in the soil, which will increase the effectiveness towards the root system. If you have any other questions about Pramitol 25E, we recommend going over the product label

    Q
Can I use Pramitol 25E to kill bluegrass and the put down groundcover?
I plan to plant ground cover in this area (in new top soil). As long as this new ground cover has a shallow root system, will this work or would I be better advised to use round-up?
    A

You should not use Pramitol 25E anywhere where you want plants to grow for at least one year. This is considered a soil sterilant and it lasts up to a year in the soil. If you are wanting to renovate an area, then you can use something that does not persist in the soil, such as GlyPhoSel Pro. We recommend waiting 2 weeks for the target plants to die completely before removing the dead plant material and putting down your groundcover or other desirable plants.

  • Asked by Mike from Portage, Ut
    07/21/2018
    Q
If I spray Pramitol 25E over the weeds, will this get worked into the soil when the rain comes in a few months?
I want to use pramitol 25, to control weeds around fire hydrants and telephone poles in our little town. The grass is nearly dead and 12-18" tall. Or can I use more water in the mix (2oz/gal.) and spray more of it on an area? Or do I need to get the fire truck to wash it down if so how much water.
    A

You would want either to water in the Pramitol 25E right away or use a higher volume of water to spray it so that it gets into the soil. Waiting several months to water the product into the ground will greatly reduce the residual activity of this product. You should use 50-100 gallons of water per Acre, or at least 1-3 gallons of water per 1000 sq ft. Additional rainfall or irrigation will improve results. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions.

  • Asked by Ronald from Sunbury, Pa
    06/17/2019
    Q
What is the best way to apply Pramitol 25E to a gravel covered driveway? Would it be faster to use a hose-end sprayer?
I have a gravel driveway that is approximately 5,000 sq. ft. I have to spray Roundup on it about every 3-weeks as weeds and grass keep coming up. If I use a 2-gallon hose sprayer it would take hours to cover all the bare gravel, grass and weeds. Is there a quicker way to apply it (e.g. - Hose end sprayer, Sprinkling Can, Etc.)? Thanks!
    A

You could potentially use a hose-end sprayer to apply Pramitol 25E if you can correctly calibrate your sprayer and avoid any potential contact or runoff to any desirable plants. For susceptible perennial grasses, you would use 12 - 18 oz per 1,000 square feet in sufficient water. For hard-to-kill perennial weeds and grasses, you would use 22 - 29.4 oz. per 1,000 sq ft. It is most important to use the correct amount of herbicide for the area you are treating and then using sufficient water or rainfall to irrigate it into the soil than it is to use a specific amount per gallon of water.  Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions.  Another option would be a backpack sprayer.

    Q
I want to kill new growth that is starting on 35 acres that were recently clear cut?
    A
If you are looking for a complete soil sterilizer that will kill any existing vegetation as well as prevent any new vegetation from coming back for at least a year you would want to go with a product like Pramitol 25E. If you are just looking to kill what is currently coming back up but plan to replant in this area, you would need to use a Glyphosate or Triclopyr product like RoundUp or Crossbow.

  • Asked by Ryan from Puyallup, Wa
    09/08/2014
    Q
What product do you recommend to get rid of aggressive ivy that is growing up the side of a house and fence?
And I also want nothing to grow there anymore. If you kind recommend 3-5 products that I could take a look at that would be awesome. Thank you.
    A

You will want to look at our Total Vegetation Management Page. The 3 most common bare ground herbicides to use that will prevent regrowth for the longest amount of time are Pramitol (up to 1 year),  TVC Total Vegetation Control (season long control) and Bonide Ground Force Vegetation Management (up to 1 year).

  • Asked by Chuck from New Braunfels
    04/14/2018
    Q
How long will Pramitrol 25E last after mixed?
We have a storage facility in South Texas with a lot of concrete drives. We typically carry around a small spray bottle to spot treat when weeds start coming up in the concrete seams.
    A

You only want to mix up what you plan to use at a time and not keep it stored in a tank sprayer for more than 24-48 hours max if you want it to carry the same potency. Products like Pramitol 25E, if used correctly should only have to be reapplied every year so if you are finding you are having to treat more frequently in areas you used it in, we would suggest using a little higher ratio per 1000 sq/ft and use a higher water volume over that whole area to ensure it is getting deep enough in the soil to set up an adequate long lasting barrier.

  • Asked by Peter from Phoenix, Az
    02/03/2014
    Q
How does the Pramitol compare to the Martins TVC for a vegetation killing spray?
What are the main differences between Pramitol and Martin's TVC and which is better in a long-term solution for a complete vegetation killer?
    A
Both the Pramitol and the TVC-Total Vegetation Control are going to give you about a years worth of soil sterilization if not longer. The weeds, grasses, brush and other hardy plants controlled are similar across the 2 labels. Your main difference is going to be the dilution ratio as to which will be the more economical buy for your amount of area. Depending on the plant being treated the quart of Pramitol will cover between 1 and 4 thousand square feet making between 1 and 4 gallons of finished solution. The amount of TVC used is also dependent on the targeted plant, between 2 and 6 pints per acre which comes out to between 0.75 and 2.25 ounces per 1000 sq/ft in no less than 2 gallons of water.

  • Asked by Karl from Stephens City, Va

    Q
    Will Pramitol 25E kill bamboo?
    A

Pramitol 25E is not specifically labeled for bamboo elimination. Any glyphosate product may or may not do the job right off to control the Bamboo. Since bamboo roots go so deep, you would need to apply either a product like Rodeo/Roundup QuikPro at the highest rates directly to the fresh cut stump of the bamboo after you cut it down level to the ground, or use a brush and stump killer undiluted directly on the fresh stump.

  • Asked by Sara from Central City, Ia
    11/08/2016
    Q
Would Pramitol 25E work for my needs?
I have a new gravel pad in front of a building (20 ft x 40 ft) and I would like to control the weeds. I was looking at Pramitol. We live on a hillside, so I'm concerned about runoff. We also have two small children (still putting things in their mouths occasionally). What would you recommend?
    A

Pramitol 25E is a total vegetation killer and will eliminate anything growing where you spray it. This will keep anything new from growing in the treated areas for at least 1 year. Caution should be used during application as some leaching in the soil could occur and destroy nearby desirable vegetation and turf. Pramitol is mixed at the rate of 8 ounces per each gallon of water at the lowest dilution, up to 32 ounces per gallon for harder to kill brush. The time it takes for plant death to occur will depend on how much product is absorbed through the root system, whether or not rainfall or irrigation occurs after application, and plant stress. It can take days to weeks before complete death is visible.  Children should be kept out of the treated area during application but can safely return as soon as everything is fully dry.  Please see the product label for complete application directions.
