    Q
I have a home sprayer. How much Pramitol 25E do I add per gallon for maximum effectiveness? I'm spraying along fence lines, rocks, etc to make mowing easier. Will it also kill thistle at the maximum mix rate?
    A

Pramitol 25E is mixed at the rate of 8 ounces per gallon of water at the lowest dilution, up to 32 ounces per gallonfor harder to kill brush.  Please see the product label for complete application instructions.

Pramitol 25E is a total vegetation killing product and will eliminate anything growing where you spray it, including thistle. It will keep anything new from growing in the treated areas for up to 1 year. Caution should be used during application as some leaching in the soil could occur and destroy nearby desirable vegetation and turfs.

    Q
How much Pramitold 25E do I need for an acre of gravel when mixed with Roundup for burn down of existing weeds?
Have 3 acres of gravel lot with fringe edges worst for broadleafs, I estimate I need to spray about 1 Acre.. Considering Pramitol 25E with RoundUP sprayed at 75G water per acre, a 1-10 ratio for pramitol. Many weeds have been up for over 3 mos, reason for RoundUp. Most area will be sprayed with wand. PRIORITY IS PERMANENT AS CAN KILLING THE GROUND. What do you recommend for water rate per acre, Pramitol + Roundup rates for aggressive kills? thanks, I am a non-expert.
    A

You are pretty close on your application needs. The Pramitol 25E Product Label states for under asphalt and similar areas: Apply Pramitol 25E uniformly at the rate of 7.8 gals. per acre (23 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft.) in a minimum of 100 gals. of water. Use the lower rate to control annual and susceptible perennial weeds and grasses such as downy bromegrass, oatgrass, goosegrass, quackgrass, puncturevine, goldenrod, and plantain. Use the higher rate to control hard-to-kill perennial weeds and grasses such as johnsongrass, bindweed, and wild carrot.

Mixing roundup in will definitely help with the burn down of the already actively growing and emerged weeds. Using most roundup products around 2-5 oz per gallon of water will yield a strong enough solution for any burn down. Be sure to keep the Pramitol outside the dripline of any desirable vegetation on the property like trees/bushes/shrubs etc.

    Q
Can I mix Pramitol 25E with Roundup Pro to help weeds from growing in my flower bed?
    A

Pramitol 25E is a soil sterilizer and would kill all plants it comes into contact with and within typically a 5 foot reach of where it is used. This is only for bare ground applications in areas where you want no plant life to grow for up to one year, such as gravel driveways/walkways, airport runways, etc.

Broadleaf weeds in a flower & ornamental beds will be treated very differently and much more carefully than would be needed in a lawn. Any broadleaf weeds (like clover, violets, dandelion, bittercress, etc) have to be hand pulled or directly spot treated with a general weed control product or roundup. Since broadleaf weeds are so similar in nature to most plants found in bedding areas, you would not be able to spray over the top without harming both. Any grassy weeds can usually be controlled with an over the top broadcast spray in flower beds with no worry of harm coming to them, but you will always want to check the product label for your specific species to be sure it’s safe. We recommend using pre-emergents as that is the most effective way to stop weeds especially in flower bed areas where chemical options are limited. Below you fill find links to liquid and granule options for your bedding areas.

    Q
I mixed Pramitol 25E Herbicide at 8 oz per gallon of water. If I don't use the entire gallon of mixed solution within a day it crystallizes and plugs my sprayer. Is this normal?
    A

That is correct, you should only be mixing up the amount of solution you plan to use at that time and no left over solution should be stored in the sprayer. Up to 24 hours is the most you would leave a product in solution for and one like Pramitol 25E will start to settle and break down in the sprayer the longer it is left sitting.

something that will kill like round-up and stop germination of seed ( and can be applied with a garden hose sprayer or tank sprayer)
    A
Pramitol 25E is a bareground herbicide that will kill everything that is sprayed. It can prevent regrowth for up to 1 year. Apply before or up to three months after weed emergence. Dilute in water or oil and apply as a foliar application, before construction, or in or under asphalt to control johnson grass, bindweed, wild carrot, and other hard to kill weeds and grasses.

  • Asked by Tom from Wilmington, Illinois

    Q
Can I tank mix Pramitol, Roundup & 2,4-D for non-crop area treatment around buildings, etc.?
    A

You could potentially mix Pramitol with other post-emergent herbicides such as Roundup/glyphosate and 2,4-D if you have a lot of existing plants that you are needing to kill. Just be sure you are using the correct application rates for each product. You may not need the 2,4-D unless you have a lot of tougher broadleaf weeds. Keep in mind that the Pramitol needs to get down into the soil but you want to post-emergent herbicides to be able to dry on the target leaf surfaces. It may be helpful for you to lightly water the area before spraying so that the soil can absorb the Pramitol more readily.

  • Asked by Ronaldo from Plainview, Tx

    Q
Can I apply Pramitol around a dirty lagoon of a feedlot and around wells?
I want to eliminate weeds around a lagoon which does not have anything live in it, but I use the dirty water to irrigate my crops, could that contaminate the water and possibly damage my crop? Here is also windy, could strong winds carrying out applied soil particles damage crops?
    A

You should not apply Pramitol 25E around any wells or cisterns as it could contaminate ground or drinking water. Pramitol is very persistent, so you should never use or spray it anywhere near desirable plants or cropt. To treat around water that you will use to irrigate crops, you will need to use herbicides labeled for this application. You could use a non-selective aquatic herbicide such as Rodeo Herbicide which is safe for use around drainage ditches, and there is no restriction on the use of treated water for irrigation, recreation, or domestic purposes. Be sure you use an aquatic approved surfactant when using Rodeo, such as DyneAmic Surfactant.

  • Asked by Scott from Camdenton, Mo

    Q
    Weeds in stones under deck
I am looking for a product to prevent weeds from growing under our deck and kill the ones that are there now. The deck is about 10 feet above this area, which is stone and gravel, so sunlight does get there but rain/water doesn't. I use Glyphosate to kill growing stuff but it doesn't prevent new growth. What would you recommend?
    A
Pramitol 25E is a better solution for what you are wanting to accomplist. It is a non-selective, bare ground herbicide. It will kill and eliminate anything growing for at least a year. Caution should be used during application as some leaching in the soil could occur and destroy nearby desirable vegetation and turfs. The Pramitol needs to be mixed at the rate of 8 ounces per each gallon of water at the lowest dilution and can be used up to 32 ounces per gallon for harder to kill brush. Time of plant death will depend on how much product is absorbed through the root system, if it is irrigate after application and if the plant is under any stress to cause it to not absorb the product as quickly. It could be days or weeks before complete death is visible in the weeds you are treating. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
Would Pramitol 25E kill thistle? I could plant hay and not have the thistle after a year?
What would be the solution for a 500 gal sprayer? I have an old hay field that the Canadian thistle took over, and I tried everything but the thistle keeps coming back.
    A

Pramitol 25E  is a total vegetation killing product and will eliminate anything growing where you spray it. The Pramitol will keep anything new from growing in the treated areas for up to 1 year. Caution should be used during application as some leaching in the soil could occur and destroy nearby desirable vegetation and turfs. You should use 50-100 gallons of water per Acre, or at least 1-3 gallons of water per 1000 sq ft. You would not be able to plant hay or other desirable plants in the treated area for at least one year.

    Q
What is a safe distance from desirable plants to spray Pramitol 25E?
My soil type is clay mixed with caliche. How far away from desirable plants would be safe to spray Pramitol?
    A

When using Pramitol 25E it would depend on the slope of the surface, and the weather conditions you are applying. You want to apply this product in cooler times of the day with less wind. On flat turfgrass areas, you would probably be safe to spray at least 2 feet away. If there is a slope, then you would need to account for possible runoff where there my be desirable plants.

    Q
I want to kill new growth that is starting on 35 acres that were recently clear cut?
    A
If you are looking for a complete soil sterilizer that will kill any existing vegetation as well as prevent any new vegetation from coming back for at least a year you would want to go with a product like Pramitol 25E. If you are just looking to kill what is currently coming back up but plan to replant in this area, you would need to use a Glyphosate or Triclopyr product like RoundUp or Crossbow.
