Pramitol 5PS Pelleted Herbicide is a non-selective post-emergent bare ground herbicide that acts as a soil sterilant preventing plant growth for up to 1 year from application. This product can be used in areas where vegetation is present or to continue keeping an area from growing vegetation. Pramitol 5PS uses water to move the active ingredients into the roots. Dry soil and no water could make Pramitol 5PS less effective. It is important to use plenty of water when mixing and applying this product.

Important: Use only in areas where complete control of all vegetation is desired such as industrial sites (including but not limited to cross connects, pedestals, transformers, vaults, buried cable closures, telephone booths, fire plugs), rights-of-way, lumberyards, petroleum tank farms, around farm buildings, along fence lines, and similar areas. When applied to the soil, this product is intended to inhibit all plant growth for a year or more. Following many years of continuous use of this product and chemically related products, biotypes of some of the weeds listed on this label have been reported which cannot be effectively controlled by this and related herbicides. Where this is known or suspected, we recommend the use of this product in combination with other registered herbicides which are not triazines. Consult with your State Agricultural Extension Service for specific recommendations.

This stuff works really well. You need to be very careful about run off if applying near turf. If applying on a gravel driveway, you should scuff it up first so it absorbs rather than running off.

Pramitol 5PS must be mixed with water as directed on the product label so cannot be applied with a granule spreader.

With a product like Pramitol 5PS, you need to make sure you are using the correct amount of product, versus the amount of water used. Per the product label: For annual broadleaf weeds and grasses, you will use 0.35-0.46 lb. per 100 sq. ft. For most perennial broadleaf weeds and grasses, you will use 0.70-0.92 lb. per 100 sq. ft. The higher rates should be used in areas where there is long growing season or high rainfall. It will also provide longer residual control. We normally recommend using the product in at least 2-4 gallons per 1000 sq. ft.
