DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Important: Do not expose children to this product or use it for any purpose other than to contol moles. To help prevent accidents:

  1. Store product not in use in locations out of the reach of children and pets.
  2. Follow all application directions and USE RESTRICTIONS on this label. Apply bait only in underground runways of moles. Keep pets out of treated areas. Do NOT use this product above ground.
  3. Dispose of product container and unused or spoiled products as specified on label.

Use restrictions: This product may only be applied at the use sites and by the application method indicated on this label.

This may only be used in lawns, parks, around homes, ornamental gardens, nurseries and other non-crop grassy areas to contol eastern moles (Scalopus aquaticus), star-nosed moles (Conylura cristata)* or (Scanapus spp). Bait must be applied directly into moles' burrow systems. This bait must be applied underground in either main underground runways or in subsurface feeding tunnels. This bait may not be used in above ground. Wear gloves when bait is handled. *Not for star-nosed mole (Conylura cristata) use in NC.

How to select proper treatment areas:

The presence of moles is indicated by a network of subsurface runways in the turf caused by moles foraging for food just below the soil surface. You may also see a series of conical mounds of earth pushed up from deep burrows.

Treating conical mounds

Moles construct deeper tunnel that are not visible from the surface. These deep tunnels systems are often marked by a series of conical mounds of loose dirt 4 to 12 inches high formed when dirt is pushed to the surface through a mole tunnel shaft.

  1. Remove all of the mounded loose dirt that is at ground level.
  2. Continue to remove loose dirt that is below ground level and you will eventually locate the primary tunnel shaft.
  3. Once the main tunnel shaft has been discovered and opened, leave it opened and return in 48 hours to see if the opening has been reclosed with loose dirt. This indicates that this mound and tunnel shaft is in use by a mole.
  4. Reopen the tunnel shaft and drop the product down into the shaft and reclose opening with dirt.
  5. Revisit the mound in 5 days and check again to see if it remains active.

How to apply: Treating subsurface runways

Locate active tunnels

  • Make a 1 inch hold in the roof of a mole surface tunnel. Do not crush tunnel. Always mark open tunnels. Mark these openings to allow you to revisit later.
  • Revisit tunnel openings 24-48 hours later. Tunnels that have had holes resealed within 48 hours are an indication of mole activity and a good place to bait.

Place the worms in tunnels

  • Poke a new hole in the roof of the active tunnel just larger than the diameter of the product.
  • Drop the product down into the hole and reseal with dirt. Repeat the process for every 5 to 10 feet of active tunnel.

Checking the results

  • Five days after placing the product into the active tunnels, use procedue above to see if tunnel remains active and if so, retreat any tunnels that still appear to be active.

    Moleworms Work Magic

    By David on 08/13/2016

Simply put, moleworms work. Within two days the moles which had been wreaking havoc on my lawn were gone and have not been back. I have tried other defenses (smoke bombs, noise makers, etc.), but none worked as effectively as the worms.

    Product too soft

    By Tom on 07/03/2019

These mole worms are simply too soft and sticky. Removing from container they appear to be melting. So sticky that if it touches anything such as dirt when trying to place it it just will not go in hole. Yes, the hole was indeed large enough. I have used the brand Tomcat in the past but both stores were out of it and I needed something now. But this is being returned.

Q
Can Victor Moleworms be broke in half and still be effective?
A

You should not cut any Victor Moleworms in half.  The active ingredient that has been added in one single worm is enough to kill one mole.  If you cut them in half, you're reducing the amount of active ingredient the mole consumes, and the mole will not receive a lethal dose.   Additionally, since moles have little to no sight, they rely heavily on smells and touch to find food.  There are certain distinguishing ?marks on an earth worth that alerts the mole that that it is an earth worm, and without those distinguishing marks that the mole can feel, it's likely that he will abandon the worm and not consume it.  Victor Moleworms have been moleded to include all those distinguishing marks so the moles are sure to take the bait. Always be sure to wear gloves when handling the worms so you're nbot leaving your scent behind on the worms.
