I love in New Orleans Louisiana and we have large roaches which I believe are American and smokey. I have an extreme fear of roaches and want to get rid of them with the least amounted visual contact and physical clean up. However, if you are only seeing larger roaches, these roaches require a lot of moisture to thrive, so they are often living outdoors and just getting inside to find shelter or food. We recommend that you first inspect the area for excess moisture, especially around appliances, plumbing, etc. If you have any landscaping outdoors, then a granule bait such as Niban Granular Bait is excellent to use around the foundation of the home, around landscaping, under decks or porches, etc. A residual spray for prevention indoors is a great tool, too. Gentrol Complete is a ready-to-use spray that has residual insecticide and an insect growth regulator (IGR) in one ready-to-use product. We have more tips in our Roach Prevention Guide here. -
