What Causes Roaches?

Roaches are inherently attracted to food, warmth, and moisture, but a main cause of roaches could be improper sanitation practices. Having improper sanitation practices does not imply that you are “dirty”, and every home or commercial kitchen has the potential to have a cockroach problem.

Roaches can be carriers for diseases such as Salmonella, E. coli, and Pneumonia, and they are also producers of a powerful allergen that causes allergies and asthma. Not only are these pests a nuisance, but they also pose a threat to you and your family’s health.

How to Control Roaches?

After completing an inspection for roaches, you will want to treat roaches in your home by using a combination of good sanitation practices and an insecticide product labeled for roaches.

By implementing the following sanitation practices, you can reduce the desirability of your home to cockroaches:

  • Never leave food or water exposed and clean up spills immediately.
  • Keep food in tightly sealed plastic or glass containers.
  • Regularly clean around and beneath appliances along with other locations that come into contact with food
  • Do not allow dirty dishes to accumulate and clean the kitchen thoroughly.

While implementing proper sanitation practices is important, it is recommended that you follow up with a roach pesticide product to further eliminate cockroaches and prevent future roach problems.

What Do Professionals Use to Kill Roaches?

When choosing an insecticide for roaches, we offer a variety of professional products that will let you use what the professionals use for roach treatments.

We offer a selection of professional roach sprays which are the same products that professionals use to spray for roaches. You can use these products yourself by following the directions on the label. If you are experiencing roaches indoors, you can utilize a roach spray that you can spray in your room, but you must select a product that is labeled for indoor use and follow the directions for proper application.

In conjunction with roach sprays, using a roach bait is one of the best things you can do to kill cockroaches. Baits, such as Advion Cockroach Gel Bait, which contains indoxacarb, act as an effective roach killer product when used as directed by the label. Other effective roach baits include Maxforce FC Magnum, a fipronil-based bait, and Alpine Cockroach Bait, a dinotefuran-based bait. Our roach baits are most effective when combined with a roach trap that enables you to monitor your roach problem and determine where treatment is necessary.

For areas where a professional cockroach spray or cockroach bait may not reach, such as small cracks and crevices, we recommend the use of a roach killer dust. These roach dusts contain some of the same active ingredients as our professional roach sprays, however, they will enable you to provide long-lasting treatment for those hard-to-reach areas.

If you find yourself dealing with roaches and their eggs, using a Roach IGR can be an effective solution for targeting and killing roaches and eggs. Roach insect growth regulators target the life cycle of roaches and prevent further reproduction which will result in a reduced number of roaches over time due to their interrupted ability to reproduce.

Fortunately, we offer roach kits that contain some of the most effective professional insecticides for roaches that you can use yourself by following the instructions for each product.

How Long Does Professional Roach Spray Last?

Depending on the professional cockroach spray that you choose, reapplication may be needed based on the information found on the label of your roach insecticide. Roach sprays have an important role in not only killing roaches but also preventing roaches from infesting your home.

While you cannot permanently get rid of roaches, using exclusion methods and utilizing different cockroach killer products can help reduce the chances of you seeing roaches in your home.

To increase the effectiveness and longevity of your roach spray, you can use outdoor roach granules to further prevent roaches from entering your home.
