Product Highlights

  • Controls both yellow and purple nutsedge
  • Product Overview

SedgeHammer Herbicide targets purple and yellow nutsedge without injurying lawns and landscapting. Ideal for cool-season and warm-season turf grasses, this selective nutsedge killer herbicide also suppresses kyllinga and controls various broadleaf weeds.

Sedgehammer Herbicide controlls nutsedge after emergence in cool and warm season turf grasses such as St. Augustinegrass, Bermudagrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, tall and fine fescue, and perennial ryegrass. Sedgehammer nutsedge killer is considered one of the more "gentle to turfgrass" products and pets and people can return to the treated area once the spray dries.

SedgeHammer Herbicide is very similar to the 13.5g packets of SedgeHammer Plus (+) nutsedge killer herbicide with one key difference:  Sedgehammer Herbicide does not include a built-in surfactant, while Sedgehammer Plus Herbicide does.  We highly recommend using a non-ionic surfactant with SedgeHammer Herbicide to increase its effectiveness on nutsedge.

To use Sedgehammer nutsedge killer, use the included measuring scoop to mix 0.9 grams in 1 gallon of water, along with two teaspoons of non-ionic surfactant. One mixed and finished gallon of solution will cover 1000 sq. ft.  One full bottle (1.33 oz.) of Sedgehammer Herbicide makes approx. 40 gallons of finished solution.  Measuring scoop included.
