  • Product Overview

Semera 4 SC Herbicide is an economic fast-acting herbicide that offers pre-emergence and post-emergence control on broadleaf weeds and grasses. It destroys a wide range of weeds such as Russian thistle, kochia, carpetweed, bluegrass, and pigweed. Also effective on submersed, emergent, and floating aquatic weeds. Its unique mode of action enters the targeted weeds thru foliage, disrupts chlorophyll, and makes weeds decompose rapidly. Flexible for both aerial and ground application. Compatible with a variety of post-emergent herbicides for more control. Best used on non-crop areas, conifers, reforestation sites, containers, trees, landscapes, ornamentals, and slow-moving waters. Available in an eight-ounce bottle.

    Not working on watermeal

    By Laurie on 07/07/2023

Bought this because they claimed it kills watermeal. Still have it after multiple sprays.

    Expert ResponseExpert response:
We apologize you did not get the expected results. Here is a bit more information that will help you have a successful application for watermeal. Semera SC is a contact herbicide that quickly degrades in the water column so plants that DO NOT initially come in contact with the herbicide will not be controlled. Coverage is essential for effective watermeal control. All floating weeds need to be exposed to lethal concentrations in all parts of the water body. Any watermeal escapes left in the water column will quickly re-infest the water body. Any untreated escapes or re-introductions of plants that were not treated will reestablish in areas where surface weeds have been previously controlled. Semera SC must be applied across the entire water body surface where the watermeal is present. If not, control will be limited and the watermeal will quickly repopulate the water body. We hope this information is helpful to you. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We are always happy to help.
