How big of a snake will the Snake Guard Snake Trap catch?

A

The Snake Guard Snake Trap can trap very large and very small snakes. There are strips of very sticky adhesive inside the trap and once the snake slithers in it's head will become trapped even if it's body cannot fit inside.

How long does the Snake Guard Snake Trap work before the glue is ineffective?

A

The glue on the Snake Guard Snake Trap will work for as long as it remains sticky. High temperatures can melt the glue or freezing teperatures can make the glue too stiff and it will be ineffective. Dust and other debris that gets on the glue can also render it ineffective.

I have a snake that has somehow gotten into the crawl space beneath my home. The area is enclosed and dark all of the time. Will the trap work in this space. The instructions say that the snake will seek the dark space of the trap.

Snakes also like small confined areas to hide and this trap would also offer them that. You should also place the trap directly in their travel path, so they naturally slither right into it. Place traps right up against and parallel to the wall near doors, vents, windows or other suspected entry/exit point.

The Snake Guard Snake Trap can be used more than once, but it all depends on how much of the "sticky glue" is left after the snake has gotten stuck. Most people do not want to handle the snake, so they just throw the whole board out with the snake inside. If you don't mind handling the snake, you can use vegetable oil to get the snake off of the board where it is stuck. If there is still enough sticky parts on the board, then it can be used again.

No, the Snake Guard Snake Trap does not contain an attractant. Snakes naturally want to enter dark confined areas and will readily go into the trap. Be sure that the traps are placed into the snakes travel path (parallel and directly against walls, on ledges, near doors or windows)

The Snake Guard Snake Trap will trap a 4 foot long snake with no problem. The only way to know if a snake has been caught is to look inside the trap. The snake will get stuck on the glue inside the box and you can dispose of the whole trap with the snake inside or you can choose to release the snake by applying copious amounts of vegetable oil to the trap and the snake until it is freed from the glue.

How to get rid of possibly a very large snake in attic?
Cleaning out an attic and found about 5ft skin from a snake, dead mice in traps (from the pest service I did have) Now I'm scared of coming across a very large snake in my attic. The placement of the trap is the most important: This product is meant to be placed underneath porches, crawl spaces, or inside or under covered areas. The outside layer of the box has a waxy coating to help repel water, but the inside is raw cardboard and is not meant to get wet. You should not place this board where it will be exposed to water/rain.
