No, Taurus SC cannot be used in the middle of a field. Leaf Cutter ants are one of the hardest ant species to control. The colonies are large and the ants make their own food so poison baits only have limited effects on this species of ants. According to several university websites, Maxforce Complete Granules containing hydramethlynon are some what effective, though they will usually eliminate only about 30% of a large colony in one treatment and will need to be reapplied several times. DeltaGard granules is one of the only products actually labeled for leaf cutter ants. The product label recommends treating the mound directly and lightly watering the granules in. Again, it may take several treatments to get the desired results. We also recommend contacting your local cooperative extension office to see if they have any recommendations for products that have worked for other people in your region.
If you have already done a soil treatment using Taurus SC Termiticide, and you don't see any active issues on the wood, then you do not have to treat that wood. If you wanted to treat raw wood that is in a crawl space, attic, etc., then you could use Bora-care to treat that wood. Bora-Care is absorbed into the wood and stays there for the life of the wood. It protects from termites, carpenter ants, wood-boring beetles, and wood decay fungus.
Taurus SC does contain the same active ingredient as Termidor SC, however, legal labeling will vary between different manufacturers for numerous reasons. Termidor SC label was just recently to allow post construction applications in Louisiana so Control Solutions may get theirs updated as well. It just takes time.
Taurus SC Termiticide is not labeled to target weevils. We do carry a product called Talstar P that is labeled for some species of weevils as directed to non-edible plants and trees (treat trunks, stems and twigs in addition to plant foliage). We recommend consulting with your extension office for more details on the species for additional treatment methods.
Taurus SC is not labeled for fleas, nor is it allowed to be used anywhere fleas would be an issue. It cannot be sprayed indoors at all, and it cannot be sprayed beyond 2 feet of the structures foundation. It would be more harmful to use this outside of its label than it would be to use two different chemicals on the same property for two different purposes. Talstar P is a very widely used insecticide for lawn treatments of fleas, ticks, and similar insects and can be applied monthly if needed to the lawn. Pets need to be out of the direct treatment area while application is being made, and until all the surfaces have dried. This is usually around 2 hours or so after spraying.
Taurus SC Termiticide has a dry time of 4-6 hours.
Taurus SC Termiticide can only be applied right up against a structure and not broadcast over a large area as directed on the product label. We are unable to provide a rate for or advise on off label usage.

Taurus SC Termiticide does list tree treatments on the label under cartoon nests. However, it is only labeled for injection applications, and not for a general spray on or around trees. Please review the product label for complete instructions.
Taurus SC Termiticide should only be used as directed on the product label. You should avoid any droplets of product contacting your car when doing a perimeter spray application around the foundation of your house, in case there may be a reaction with the car's paint. Taurus SC Termiticide is not labeled to be used indoors nor is it a contact kill or repellent to keep insects away. If you have large populations of cluster flies flying around your home or a particular room, you can use a contact spray like 565 Plus XLO to knock them down.

The active ingredient, Fipronil, in Taurus SC Termiticide is formulated to bind with the soil so it can provide a barrier treatment for approximately 10 years. When just pouring onto the surface it will not move through the soil but bind to that top layer. We recommend allowing a 24 hour window without rain or irrigation, before or after the treatment, so it can bind with the soil. If you have a built-in garage, you will need to drill across the concrete driveway to complete your barrier treatment. For outdoor control of ants and other perimeter pests, mix 0.8 fl. oz. of Taurus SC per gallon of water and apply using a hand-pump sprayer around the outside of the home, spraying 1 foot up the side of the house and 1 foot out from the house, all the way around the home. Also spray around any exterior openings where pests may enter such as doors (don't spray near door handles), windows, pipes, cracks, vents, holes, etc. Exterior perimeter spray applications will provide a 6 month residual against ants and other crawling insects. Taurus SC Termiticide is applied by a trench treatment method where you are digging a 6 in x 6 in trench directly against the exterior perimeter foundation (to include any support pillars/piers under the home). This method will eliminate an existing Sub Termite colony within 90-120 days and last for 10 years in the soil to protect against future termites.
Dig the 6 in x 6 in trench directly against the foundation, pour 4 gallons of mixed solution (0.8 fl oz per gallon of water) every 10 linear feet of trench around the foundation. When backfilling the trench, spray the dirt with 1 gallon of mixed solution (0.8 fl oz per gallon) every 10 linear feet of the top soil.
