    Q
What is the difference between Tempo and Temprid?
I'm mainly using it for cockroaches indoors. Mostly kitchen and dining area. What's the difference between Tempo and Temprid and what are the advantages/disadvantages
    A

The active ingredient in Tempo SC actually is also in the Temprid SC along with the active igredient from Merit, Imidacloprid. In Temprid SC, beta-cyfluthrin (Tempo) provides a quick knockdown for immediate control, while the imidacloprid (Merit) provides long-lasting results and far-reaching control through a transfer effect but kills closer to do so.  The two active ingredients affect targets pests differently, offering complete and unique control for the toughest pests, even when resistance is a concern.  For roaches it would be recommend to also use an IGR (insect growth regulator) and baits.  We have a great guide here that can help.

    Q
Can I use Tempo SC Ultra in a hose end sprayer for Chiggers?
What is the mix ratio for Tempo SC Ultra for use in a hose end sprayer? Is this a good insecticide for Chiggers?
    A
You should apply Tempo SC Ultra at a rate of 8 ml of Tempo per 1000 square feet.  The amount of water depends on how much you need to apply the 8 ml over the area of 1000s square feet.  It can be mixed with a few gallons of water, or 10 gallons of water, just as long as the 8 ml is applied over the 1000 square feet.

  • Asked by Melissa from Lake Placid

    Q
Which product would be best for flea and tick control indoors and out, Tempo SC or Demand CS?
    A

Demand CS is not labeled to use indoors for flea control and Tempo SC can only be used as a crack and crevice or spot treatment for fleas indoors.  Either product would be a great choice for outdoor flea control. Most customers use a product such as Ultracide for indoor flea control and a then use a liquid concentrate like the Demand or Tempo outdoors. If you want to use the same product for both indoor and outdoor flea treatments you should consider purchasing our Outdoor Flea Kit. This kit contains Onslaught which is a broad spectrum insecticide which can be used as a broadcast spray for both indoor and outdoor infestations. The kit also contains Martins IGR which will help break the breeding cycle of the fleas for long term control.

    Q
How should you handle Tempo SC Ultra?
My landlord gave me a bottle of tempo sc ultra to treat a bedbug problem in our Apt. My boyfriend has gone crazy with the stuff. Spraying every few day's in hopes of getting rid of the problem. I am worried for our safety breathing it in all the time.
    A
Tempo SC Ultra should not be used any more often than every 7 days for bedbug control. We have linked the Tempo SC Ultra product label in this answer so you and your partner can learn how to use the product properly. Tempo SC Ultra is labeled only to use as a crack and crevice spray around the perimeter of the room. It is not labeled to be used on mattresses, furniture or other items that will be coming in prolonged skin contact. When Tempo SC Ultra is being applied only the applicator should be in the room. Everyone can return to the space after the application has dried and the room has been vented.  Over use of a product can cause insects to become resistant to the chemical you are using so care should be taken to follow the product label instructions.

    Q
Can Tempo SC Ultra be put in a pull behind tank sprayer?
I have a pull behind tank sprayer that I use for liquid fertilizer. Can I mix and use the Tempo in this? Also if i do not use all that I mixed can I leave it in the tank sprayer to use approx. 3 months later ? I didn't know if it looses its effectiveness if it would sit mixed for any length of time?
    A
You can apply Tempo SC Ultra using a pull behind tank sprayer. You should only mix what you can use at one time as you cannot leave Tempo sitting in a diluted solution for more than a day or two.

  • Asked by Mike from Dallas, Texas

    Q
Tempo sc ultra mixed with demand cs
I'm thinking of mixing both products in a sprayer together 8 oz of each into 2 gallons of water. Or maybe spraying one product first then Coming back with the other slightly above each other. Thanks
    A
Synthetic pyrethroids such as Tempo SC and Demand CS are the man-made versions of natural pyrethrin insecticides such as Exciter or Pyganic Pro. There is no valid reason to mix Tempo SC and Demand CS together, it would not make either product work better or produce better results, though it could make treated areas repellent to bedbugs lessening the effectiveness of the treatment. You should choose one product, read the product label and follow it closely.

  • Asked by Gosia from Pensacola Fl

    Q
Does it controll fire ants in my back yard?
Will it work on fire ants? How much to put on 1 gallon of water for fire ants? How long between aplication to have fire ants free back yard?
    A
Yes, Tempo SC Ultra is labeled for Fire Ant control. You should mix 16 mL per gallon of water. Be sure to spray the mounds directly while broadcasting the spray all over your lawn for complete coverage. Also, you want to spray 2 to 3 feet up the side of the house and 2 to 3 feet out on the ground, along with window frames, door frames, and any other possible entry point. Performing a treatment every moth outdoors and every 3 months indoors will ensure continued protection.

  • Asked by Brad from Bricelyn, Mn
    07/05/2013
    Q
How long does Tempo take to work?
    A
You didn't specify what insect you are using the Tempo to treat for, so we cannot give you an exact answer. The time it takes to eliminate an insect is determined by multiple factors: how long did the insect stay on a surface that is treated with Tempo? How healthy is the insect? How large is the colony? All of these play a factor in how long it will take for you to see a drop in the population of insects in your yard and around your home. It can take weeks and even up to months to eradicate the entire colony depending on the insect. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Asked by Toni from Marion

    Q
When do I vacuum if I am spraying Tempo SC on concrete floors where pet was kept?
I was told that vacuuming the floor over and over will get rid of the fleas. Persistence is key, but will vacuuming keep the spray from working if I vacuum the floor when it dries?
    A
Tempo SC is not labeled to be applied as a broadcast spray and when dealing with fleas on concrete floors you do not need to treat the entire floor.  Tempo SC is more of a crack and crevice treatment. You should use Tempo SC along baseboards and cracks and crevices, and those are the areas that you would also need to concentrate on vacuuming as well.  You would vacuum before the application and then every day or every other day after application.  Once the product dries it will adhere to the surfaces and vacuuming will not remove it.
