The Tomahawk Model 406 is an extra large rigid fish trap with a single repeating trap door and an easy release back door. This repeating trap will continue catching fish as long as it is in the water. It measures 42L x 15W x 15H, is constructed with 1" x 1" - 14 gauge galvanized steel mesh and weighs 12 lbs. The size of the opening is about 4 inches in diameter, but the prongs can be bent inwards some if you need the hole to be smaller.

I bought two of these traps to catch the fish in my private pond to transfer them to another area during renovation of the pond. I dropped them in the deep area, and the next day I went out in a row boat to retrieve them. They were packed with fish! Very exciting. Unfortunately, after I emptied the first trap with the hinged door, I pulled up the second trap. The hinged door didn't work. It had been fastened permanently shut with clips at the factory. There was no way to get the fish out. I had to pry open the trap (ruining it) in order to save the fish. I'm sure it was a simple mistake at the factory. Nevertheless, I am out one trap. Other than that, their design is great and they really work!

Just what I was looking for

Very pleased with the trap. The adjustable entrance is a great feature. It would be nice if it came with a couple places to hook a rope. Overall great product.

Excellent trap. Easy to use, bait and unload. Sturdy construction made to last. I use it for catfish and couldn't be more pleased.

Catches fish but we use it in Pensacola Bay. It rusted to pieces in 4 months. Should be coated so it can be used In salt water.

What size catfish will it catch and what do you bait it with

The 406 Single Trap Door with Easy Release Door Rigid XL Fish Live Trap will catch catfish up to 5lbs. Over 5lbs they will not fit in the funnel. The trap can hold up to 15 fish at a time. There are different types of bait you can use. I have found that just plain old hot dogs work best.
