    Q
Transport Mikron + Gentrol IGR aganist German Roach infestations?
I am doing a restaurant that has had a bad German Roach infestation and have achieved some pretty good results with baits but not fully knocking them out fully. I am curious as to how well Transport Mikron and Gentrol IGR would work?
    A
Transport Mikron is not labeled for German Roaches specifically. We would recommend using Suspend SC or Demon WP with the Gentrol IGR. For Roach Control you want to use a liquid insecticide, IGR along with baits for the most effective results.

    Q
How long after you spray Transport Mikron Insecticide before the bed bugs and cockroaches start dying out?
    A

How long it takes the insects such as bedbugs or roaches to die after they come into contact with a treated area of Transport Mikron Insecticide will depend on a number of factors. It will depend on the maturity of the insect as well as how long they stayed on the treated area, how long it has been since the area was treated and the concentration that was used to treat the area. Typically it can take anywhere from a couple of hours to a day or so for them to die.

    Q
Can you use Transport Mikron in kitchen cabinets in the cracks of them?
Would like to use this sometimes in them to cut down on some of the cost of the Bait Gel in some Really infested cabinets!
    A

Transport Mikron is labeled to be used in food handling areas, but per the Label, it cannot be used in the cabinets. You can use a product like Cy-kick Aerosol in the cracks and crevices of the cabinets. Be sure that all food and food handling items are removed.

    Q
    Transport/Temprid Tank Mix (Together)
After carefully reviewing both labels of Transport and Temprid, I found nothing that states I cant mix the 2 insecticides together for bedbug treatment. Given each product has different chemical components, would tank mixing the two be okay?
    A

It is not necessary to mix two insecticides together. If you are wanting to make your product work faster, we would recommend using something like ExciteR. This is used when you want a faster knockdown of pests. When mixing anything together, we would mix a small amount together to ensure there is no clumping.

    Q
Is Transport Mikron the best choice for bed bugs?
I've had alot of professionals tell me that, while there are many options and no solution is 110% all around effective on its own, they would choose transport mikron as their tool of choice if they had to pick one. I am just curious as to what you would recommend someone on a budget that is trying to use home remedies (vacuuming, isopropyl alcohol, bed covers) combined with one good insecticide to attempt to alleviate their bed bug issue as well as prevent further infestation by insects
    A

Transport is definitely a great product and one of the many choices out there for bedbug control concentrates. The main one we recommend is Temprid FX but it is also a dual ingredient product like the Transport Mikron is for increased control. The biggest thing to remember is that using just one residual product like Transport or Temprid is not enough to get rid of the bedbugs since they cant be sprayed in all the areas and surfaces where bedbugs hide that need to be treated at the same time as the spraying to effectively eliminate them.

If bedbugs have been found in the home you will want to follow our detailed bedbug guide which will take you through each step necessary to completely eliminate the population. As you go through the guide linked below you will see the non chemical steps (such as washing and drying clothes and linens) as well as chemical steps including where and how to use each product. Our Bed Bug kits are the best route to make sure you are using the best products on the market and without breaking the bank. Each kit is designed to treat a different size home or number of rooms, so you can choose the one best suited to the areas you have effected by the pest problem. The kits come with all the products need to do a complete treatment in all the places bed bugs can hide and enough product to complete roughly 4 repeat applications. Since every home and infestation is different you will want to do diligent and meticulous treatments with the products every 7-14 days until you can go 30 days in a row with no signs of live bed bugs and no new bites on the occupants of the home. If you have any questions regarding info you see in our guide or the products within the kits please let us know and we would be more than happy to assist you.

    Q
The .11% dilution is specific for outdoor use. Is this the same percentage for indoor use?
    A
Yes the rate stays about the same whether using it indoors or outdoors. If there were any change in the percentage you would need to refer to the product label for the exact pest and area in which you are treating.

  • Asked by Bill

    Q
What product would work better for spiders, Transport Mikron or Talstar?
The application would be for the exterior of houses, with two applications per year.
    A

Either Insect Transport Mikron Insecticide or Talstar P would be a great choice for general insect control around the house. Transport Mikron contains both bifenthrin and acetamiprid in a newer formulation that offers excellent control of spiders and many other common insects. Be sure to apply Transport Mikron according to the product label. See our Spider Treatment article for more information about spider control.

    Q
Will Transport Mikron eliminate bird mites?
not listed for bird mites but can it elimonate them since it has bifluthrin
    A
If it is not on the label, then legally we cannot recommend it for that purpose.  As far as if it would work, we are not the manufacturer so we would recommend calling them directly to ask any hypothetical questions.

    Q
How would you apply Transport Mikron for fleas on hardwood floors with no carpeting?
    A

Transport Mikron Insecticide is not labeled for broadcast spraying indoors on flooring.  It is strictly a crack and crevice treatment product for around the perimeters of rooms (baseboards), around window sills, door frames, etc.  It may not be applied to hardwood flooring.  For further instructions on how to use this product please refer to the product label

    Q
Is Transport Mikron Insecticide effective for backwoods insects?
I am trying to find a spray for the woods behind my house to control the ticks, chiggers, gnats. You can't go in the backyard without getting attacked.
    A

Transport Mikron Insecticide is labeled for many insects including ticks, chiggers, and gnats, but it can not be applied to lawns. It is applied as an exterior perimeter spray. Onslaught is a great product for chigger control. Treatments for chiggers should begin in April/May and could need to continue through the summer as new chiggers move into the area. Treating the entire lawn is of little benefit because chiggers avoid direct sunlight and normally will not infest areas that are mowed or otherwise well maintained. Focus treatment on the unkept areas of the lawn and lawn edge. You can also use Onslaught to do a barrier treatment around the outside of your home and in your crawl space to stop pests from moving indoors. It is labeled for ticks and many other pests.

  • Asked by Mary from Wesley Chapel, Florida

    Q
What is the best application for springtails?
Specifically around the perimeter of slab, concrete block home in Florida. Someone wrote that they had success with Transport MiKron and IGR (Martin's). All help greatly appreciated! And yes I already read your link on eliminating springtails
    A
Springtails indicate that there is a moisture issue because they breed in walls or under slabs where a moisture issue may exist.  Typically, pesticides alone will not take care of a springtail problem.  It is required to fix whatever moisture issue is causing the problem.  While Transport Mikron will help to kill the springtails that contact a treated surface until the moisture issue is addressed they could always be an issue.  Martin's IGR is not actually labeled for springtails so we cannot recommend it for them.  There is no known IGR labeled for springtails.

  • Asked by Luke from Carmi, Il

    Q
Can I use Transport Mikron Insecticide to treat my attic for brown recluse spiders?
We are having a problem with brown recluse spiders in my upstairs bedrooms and I believe they are coming from the attic. We have Orkin and all they do is put out glue traps for them and they are catching them but the amount they are catching is not slowing down. I was thinking of treating the attic and my baseboards in the upstairs area and around the attic door. Please help
    A

Yes, Transport Mikron Insecticide can be used in an attic for spiders, including the brown recluse. You will mix 1.25 oz per gallon of water. Apply as a coarse, low pressure spray to areas where these pests hide, such as baseboards, corners, storage areas, closets, around water pipes, doors, and windows, attics, and eaves, behind and under dishwashers, refrigerators, cabinets, sinks, furnaces, and stoves, the underside of shelves, drawers and similar areas. Pay particular attention to cracks and crevices.
