Prodiamine 65 is a great crabgrass and general broadleaf weed preventative product. For crabgrass your main application for prevention will be in the spring when it germinates. You are welcome to do a fall application now for other weeds, too, but you will want to get it down before Oct 1st, ideally, in our southern region. Keep in mind that pre-emergents will not do anything to the crabgrass currently growing in your lawn: you would need a post-emergent product for eliminating those.
