Does not work
By Christopher on 02/18/2019
I've been watching the ghost ants in my kitchen eat this stuff for the past three weeks and there is no sign of them slowing down. They eat the bait, I reapply but to no avail.
Expert response:
Thank you for your review. We apologize you have not received the expected results. It sounds like you may have a very large colony or multiple satellite colonies feeding off of the bait. If your ant trail to the bait has been consistent you want to continue to have fresh bait available to them as long as you see activity. If the nest location is unknown then the ants could be traveling as little as a few feet away from the bait to the nest, or up 30+ feet away from the bait. If you think part of the colony may be accessing food sources elsewhere as well as the bait this can play a part in how long it takes for them to be eliminated completely as well. If you haven't already, try placing a small dab of peanut butter on a piece of tin foil near the gel bait placement. If some of the colony starts going for it then that colony is also needing a protein source and not just a sugar source (the gel). A protein bait like Maxforce complete 8 oz would be a great option to pair with the gel. (https://www.domyown.com/maxforce-complete-granular-bait-p-1603.html)

Advion works well

Almost *too* good
By Gregory on 07/24/2012
As I mentioned in the title of this review, this stuff REALLY attracts ants. I guess that's the point, but it was a little scary (at first). I had an infestation of the little brown ants in my master bathroom. I put this stuff down on a few pieces of paper and within hours, they were swarmed by hundreds of these ants, and they just kept coming. I left the bait out for two days, and by the 2nd day, there was a pile of dead ants. After removing the bait, and vacuuming the dead ants, we have yet to see another ant in our bathroom. I'm hopeful that some of them brought this bait back to the nest. Either way, it appears that our bathroom is currently free of ants. Fast shipping, and great advice from DoMyOwnPestControl.com, as always.

A++ product! Absolute best solution to pest control for Sugar An
By Richard on 03/10/2016
After 3 months of trying a competitor's product with little to no results, we found Dupont's Advion Ant Bait Gel, and within just a week of using it, our problem has been nearly eliminated. Still using the gel in a few places to catch the last few stragglers, but the kitchen and bathrooms are clear, and the colony is on it's way to complete termination! BY FAR THE BEST BAIT I'VE EVER FOUND!!!

So far looks good
By Jaques on 05/07/2016
Hello I don't usually leave reviews but, I thought mine could be of help. Last year we called a pest control guy since he was here before. (He only sprayed a repellent and obviously did not kill colony) Last year when weather got warm the carperter ants invaded our house mostly kitchen and upstairs of house but mostly kitchen and wood work under kitchen. I had no idea where the nest was so I bought Avion gel. Just I have different take, when I first saw the ants I sprayed a residual repellent first (which I should not have if I was trying to bait them) 3 days later the gel arrived. Here's what happened I sprayed repellent 3 days earlier when I saw maybe 5 or 6 ants for 3 days straight (I figured they were back) So when the gel arrived I used 2 vials and applied it in different areas of the house that I did not spray any repellent. I also used the granuals outside too. I ordered the gel after reading the reviews that what most people said was as soon you apply the gel the ants will come out of the woodwork and all and it will be disgusting to witness at first the ants flocking to the bait Because such strong smell. I saw no ants inside none the only ants I saw were the 5 before the gel arrived. So I took the gel outside a few days later and I found an area where I saw some activity this was by the chimney on the other side of the house from kitchen near an opening possibly. So I applied gel and granual and again I have not seen any carperter ants inside of the house. Waiting to use rest of gel and granules. So the reason I gave only 4 stars is I don't know if ants came and ate the bait at night in the house and killed off the colony.or the colony is intact they just waiting for repellent to wear off.or when I found the activity outside that was when they flocked to the gel.Or it's possible my infestation was not that severe either way I'll be ready if they come back.If just 2 vials got rid of our problems I'll be a happy man just am still waiting if I see anymore ants it's been almost a month and no sign of dead or alive ants so so far it seems to be working.just can't be sure.

Easy to use
By Sarah on 06/11/2010
Thank you for the order of the ant bait. I have used it and it really works well. I have had a touch time this Spring with the little tiny ants. They are still pretty bad outside, but thanks to the ant bait I no longer have them inside. Good product.

DuPont Ant Bait Gel
By Lisa on 04/14/2011
When I Googled "How to get rid of kitchen ants" an ad for a professional exterminating company popped up and they were using DuPont Advion. It would have cost me over $250 for them to exterminate the ants. I purchased this product and within a day or so my problem was gone. It worked better than I had hoped it would at a fraction of the cost of having someone else do it. It was very easy and safe to use.

Poor Results
By Sam on 08/24/2020
If I left my dog's food dish on the floor, it would attract ants. One day, I left some dry kibble on my dining room floor and ants appeared within 30 minutes. I placed 3 containers of Advion Ant Bait Gel along the baseboard in my dining room. They have been there for two days and the gel has not attracted a single ant. This products wasn't cheap. I expected better results for my $60.

Advion
By Gary on 05/18/2011
Excellent product. Had odorous house ants in two locations in the house; kitchen pantry and under a hardwood floor in another room. I put dots of bait down where I saw activity (alot of activity) and they swarmed the bait. Within 4-5 days they were all gone. I had the same results outdoors near a garden wall. I found the information on this web site to be very helpful also. I bought a couple of other products (Talstar/Phantom) for perimeter spray outdoors, and crack and crevice spray indoors. I no longer have a problem with ants, no longer have a service contract with a pest control company, and I will be able to do my own pest control now for 2 years for the price of one quarterly pest control visit. The best part is, so far my results have been better than theirs.

household ant bait
By Anonymous on 06/21/2013
In most cases the bait worked after 3 or more repititions at various stations through out the house. At least 4 locations within the house were treated, as one area was cleared, the ants showed up in another location. Some required 2 or 3 treatments of 3 or 4 days before the ants left and did not return. At the present time no ants are seen on a daily basis.

Best Ant Bait Found Yet
By Ellen on 08/15/2015
Althought expensive for the small amount provided in the 4 tubes, this has so far been the best ant bait I have found thus far. I put it down, the ants swarm to it, and then the next day I don't see even one adult ant. Have, however found A FEW appearing to be baby ants, so you might have to re-apply in same place a week or so later, as I don't think the gel has any effect on hatching ant eggs.

Dead Ants everywhere
By Shar on 04/25/2016
Good to know I'm not alone.
By Susan on 06/10/2019
Regarding Advion Ant Gel: I decided to look into the lowest rating reviews to find out if I'm not alone in my Advion experience, and now I feel less alone in reading that other users have had the exact same results as I've been experiencing. My story is exactly the same as a lot of the other recent low rating reviews for this product. I've been putting this bait out for over a month now, (1 bedroom apartment, the ants entered thru a window and colonized in the walls behind my bathroom through where a portion of my living room floor pulls away from the wall. They started entering the bathroom through the bathtub and sink faucet fixtures.) The foraging ants feed on the gel, some die right at the gel dab after feeding, others take it back to the nest. For a couple of days, it seemed like the ants were not coming around anymore, and I thought maybe the gel had killed the colony finally, but nope. Alas, they came back in droves again after those few days and are still doing their routine. (I had also simultaneously laid out Bayer's Maxforce gel and Advance granules, and also no lasting eradication with those as well) I'm going to the next intervention tier that I was trying to avoid, that is: (non-repellant, transfer effect surface insecticide) I'm gonna continue putting out the bait, but also apply Alpine WSG as a spot treatment on the tile surface where they frequent around the bathtub fixtures. If Alpine WSG still doesn't kill the colony or colonies, my last resort is gonna be to apply Phantom SC. I'll post here again and let y'all know how the Alpine WSG / Phantom SC goes.

Not the same
By Ronnie on 07/05/2019
I ordered this bc I had a tube given to me 2-3 yrs ago and it would take care of an ant problem in just one or two applications. I was happy to find a place I could order more but my excitement did not last. I have used one whole tube on the same ants and they are not going away. It's like they line up to get more of it. I'd look for another product that actually kills them.

By Charles on 07/05/2011
We've tried everything to get rid of those pesky little ants. Someone suggested the advion ant bait gel. After just a drop in the locations where they were seen the most, and amazingly they are all gone. I'll recommend it to all I know with an ant problem.

Great stuff
By Jeff on 05/28/2013
Bought Advion after I used an entire bottle of Terro on two particular ant colonies without seeming to put a dent in them. Terro is way to thin and runny to use on walls. It attracted them and they chowed on it but it never wiped out the whole nest. One application of Advion and they're gone.

Advion Ant Bait Gel
By Rick on 03/29/2016
My ants didn't like it, but it's easy to use
By Annice on 07/14/2016
I've used this Advion gel in the past and it seemed to work. I'm sure the effectiveness of the bait depends on the type of ant you have. This time it looked like I had more than one variety, so I combined this bait, which is a carbohydrate-based bait, with a protein-based one, the Advance 375A Select Granular Ant Bait. I saw the ants, even the really tiny ones, carrying off the granular bait right away, but they didn't show much interest in the gel. Even so, between the two products, my ant problem is all but gone. It's clean and easy to dispense, so I will continue to use it in combination with the granular product to cover all the bases. What matters to me is that I can use a professional-grade product myself and not pay an expensive pest control company.

Worked Great The First Time/Becoming Immune The Second Time
By Karen on 08/08/2016
This product worked great last year. The tiny tiny ants returned to the same spot inside the house under the kitchen window sill. I treated with new product 2-3 weeks ago, and I still have "renegade" ants. I don't know if they have become "immune" or have genetically changed over the year. Still struggling with getting rid of the colony.

Advion did not stant against the force of carpenter ants.
By Norma on 12/30/2017
I bought Advion to stop carpenter ants destroying my plants and trees. After the first week I could see ants eating it like pure sugar even flyes were attracted to it. It is very easy to install and the aplicator can reach cracks you could not reach with other applicators. The 2nd week, were not eating it at all. I noticed a hand full of dead ants but that was all. I had to resort to Termidor to destroy the entire colony. Advion would work for small infestations not a big colony infestation.
