CB-80 Aerosol is a contact kill that can be used when seeing flies in the crawl space area. For a residual spray, OneGuard can be applied at 1.0 to 2.0 fl oz per gallon and broadcasted on the surface but also around the exterior perimeter foundation.
CB-80 Aerosol should not stain any surface its applied to, however we nor the manufacturer can test for all surface applications. We would recommend testing in a small inconspicuous area first before treating in a wider area where you have the pests emerging. Unless you are spot treating only behind the siding, we would recommend using a concentrated product you mix with water and spray in that area instead since aerosols are not going to hold up to the outdoor elements as well and are used more for spot treatments to flush insects out as a contact kill. Cyzmic CS would be a great option for residual insect control outdoors.
CB-80 Aerosol is a flushing & contact insecticide used for a variety of insects. If spraying as direct spray to kill insects when seen, you would not need to leave the room for any extended amount of time. If used as a flushing application along baseboards, cracks and crevices you would want to leave the room until the application has dried and the room has been ventilated. Please refer to the product label for the specific insects you are targeting and the recommended time frame for re-entry if applicable.
CB-80 Aerosol does list small flying moths as a target insect. The product label states that when treating inside of closets, to remove all clothing and other articles before applying the product. You can use this to flush out cracks and crevices to try to control larvae there. Keep in mind that this is a contact kill aerosol only, though, so it does not have any residual once the spray has dried. You can also read our article on How to Get Rid of Clothes Moths, for more treatment information by clicking here.
CB-80 is a great option for knock down of flying insects. Without knowing what species of pest you are treating for or dealing with specifically, its hard to give accurate treatment information. We'd recommend looking at our Drain Fly Guide and our Fruit Fly Guide to determine which pest you are treating for, and to help locate and narrow down the primary areas/drains they are coming from in the home. The guides also go over step by step instructions for eliminating each pest, and have kits and product recommendations provided.
While the label does state CB-80 Aerosol is highly toxic to bees, it is not specifically labeled to control them. We suggest using the products in our carpenter bee control kit.
CB-80 Aerosol contains solvents that should not be used on edible items. It would not be safe to consume anything sprayed with it.
CB-80 Aerosol should only be applied as a crack and crevice application and not as a broadcast spray. You would want to clean those surfaces with hot water and cleaning solution before returning the food, dishes etc.
CB-80 Aerosol is a pyrethrin based aerosol that will act as a flushing agent. The Actisol units can be used with many different chemicals to apply them as an aerosol application to cracks and crevices so yes it is comparable to them. Though it is only a contact kill and with the Actisols you can use residual sprays that keep killing.
CB-80 Insecticide may be harmful to starlings or other birds. We cannot recommend to use this product in any way other than those uses on the product label. We would encourage you to remove a nest that may be bothering you and then seal up the access points so that other birds do not return to the area. You can view our Bird Control Page for more product information about bird control.

CB-80 actually is not labeled for bees. If you want to use an aerosol product for bees that will provide a quick knockdown, we would recommend using Wasp X or Wasp Freeze instead, applied in the morning or in the evening, when bees are least active.
CB-80 is not labeld to be used on clothing. It is important to note that CB-80 does not offer residual control, so bedbugs need to be sprayed directly for best results. We would recommend washing your clothing and putting them in the dryer on high heat for one hour, as this will kill any live bed bugs. We would also recommend that you put the suitcase in a sealed bag with a Nuvan Pro Strip. The bag would need to stay sealed for 3 -4 weeks for best results.
No, CB-80 Aerosol is not specifically labeled for use in a septic tank.
CB-80 Aerosol is a flushing and contact aerosol providing ultra-fast knockdown of flies. However, there is no residual with this product so it will only kill the flies that come in direct contact with the spray. You certainly can wipe everything down after using in a room, because again there is no residual with this prouct. This spray will not kill the eggs, only the flies that come into contact with the spray.
The best way to get rid of an Indian Meal Moth infestation is to clean out all of your cabinets and discard any infested items. Seal all goods that could potentially become infested in air tight plastic containers. While all items are out of the cabinets you should perform a deep clean. Vacuum and scrub all shelves, paying special attention to cracks and crevices where insects may harbor. Using a spray product in the cracks and crevices will help eliminate the moth larva that has crawled away from the food products to pupate.
Per the CB-80 Aerosol manufacturers label: FOR INDIANMEAL MOTHS AND ANGOUMOIS GRAIN MOTHS: Close doors and windows. Keep area closed for 15 minutes following treatment. Repeat application weekly or as needed.
