    What is the best way to apply Crystal Blue Copper Sulfate on algae?
    A

    Crystal Blue Copper Sulfate should be applied on a sunny day after mixed with water. You should spray one-half of the water area and wait 14 days before treating the remaining half. This will prevent the suffocation of the fish.

    Is the Crystal Blue Copper Sulfate formulation safe to kill lichen/algae growing on a live oak tree?
    If safe, how to formulate mixture for backpack sprayer.

    No, Crystal Blue Copper Sulfate is no longer labeled for an application on trees or other vegetation. Keep in mind that lichen do not cause any harm to host trees.

    Do you need to dissolve the Crystal Blue Copper Sulfate in water and then spray on the pond, or can you just sprinkle the crystals in the water?

    For most applications of Crystal Blue Copper Sulfate, you will dissolve the granules in water and then spray over the water surface. Per the product label, you should not apply granules directly to the water unless you have the proper equipment and are already familiar with this treatment.

    How much Copper Sulfate do you mix in a one gallon sprayer for duckweed in shallow water of a small pond?

    Crystal Blue Copper Sulfate is not labeled for duckweed, only algae.  For duckweed control you should instead use a product like Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide.

    Can I use Crystal Blue Copper Sulfate to control cattails in retention pond?
    How much to use in a 2 gallon pump sprayer?

    Crystal Blue Copper Sulfate is for algae only and would not affect cattails.  Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide would be a better option as it is an aquatic herbicide labeled for cattails

    Per the product label, "Generally, larger quantities of Crystal Blue Copper Sulfate will also be required to control algae growth when water temperatures are low (below 60ºF), in hard water, and in water that is free flowing".

    Crystal Blue Copper Sulfate is only labeled to treat algae and will not affect water willow.  We recommend applying Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide for the water willow.
