Demand CS would be a great choice for brown recluse spider control as well as general insect control. Brown Recluse spiders are very scary to have in your house, but they are no harder to get rid of than any other spider. The hardest part of getting rid of the brown recluse is finding them since they like to remain hidden. Demand CS would be a great choice for indoor and outdoor spider control. Spraying Demand CS will also help to get rid of the other insects (silverfish, sow bugs aka rollie pollies and millipedes) that spiders feed on and that will help to stop new spiders from moving inside. Indoors, spray around all baseboards, door frames, window frames, under appliances, in closets and storage rooms and in areas where utilities enter into the structure. Outdoors you should spray around the bottom of the foundation, on the ground adjacent to the foundation, door frames, window frames and places where the utilities enter into the structure.
Yes, Demand CS will kill carpenter ants that come in contact with a treated surface. It is micro-encapsulated, so it works like a time released formula. For carpenter ant control specifically, we would recommend our Indoor Carpenter Ant Kit. The kit contains professional pest control products to control carpenter ants found inside structures, including two baits that contain different formulations and active ingredients to increase bait acceptance and efficacy. To control carpenter ants around the exterior of your home, Taurus SC will do the trick. You would mix 0.8 fl. oz. of Taurus SC per gallon of water and apply using a hand-pump sprayer around the outside of the home, spraying 1 foot up the side of the house and 1 foot out from the house, all the way around the home.
Both Talstar P and Demand CS are labeled for a wide variety of insect pests and either would work well for general pest control. However, if spiders are a concern, or if you will be treating mainly outdoors, it would be better to choose a microencapsulated insecticide such as Demand CS. Microencapsulated products will hold up better outdoors, and their larger particle size makes them easier for larger insects like spiders and scorpions to pick up on their bodies.
Demand CS should be applied when pets are not present and completely dry prior to their return to those treated areas. The product will not reactivate after that to be harmful to them.
Demand CS will kill grass hoppers that come in contact with it. Dilute at 8 mL per gallon of water.
You should use Demand CS in conjunction with Delta Dust for carpenter bee control. Spraying Demand CS topically will help stop new bees from coming in and drilling holes. You should mix Demand CS according to the product label and apply the spray to surfaces where the bees are known to land or drill.
Demand CS is safe to applied indoors when applied as a crack and crevice applciation and following the label instructions. We recommened that women who are pregnant refrain from being in the area when treating and to wait until the product has had time to dry before re-entering. For any specific concerns, please contact your doctor and/or the manufacturer Syngenta at 1-866-796-4368.
Demand CS would not kill bed bug eggs as it is not a contact kill. However Bedlam and Bedlam Plus are labeled to kill both Bed Bugs and their eggs. You should note that even products that are labeled to kill bedbug eggs are not able to kill 100% of the eggs and you will still be required to do follow up treatments every 7-10 days until no further evidence (bites, blood stains, cast skins, fecal deposits) of bedbugs is noticed.
If Demand CS is leaving a visible residue, then we would recommend to use a lower dilution rate (0.2-0.4 oz. per gallon of water). Also, be sure you are only spraying as a spot and/or crack and crevice treatment. You could also consider going to an insecticide that is not micro-encapsulated, such as Talstar P. If you are removing all the reside, then you would need to reapply the insecticide.
