    Q
Will Demand CS work on chiggers when sprayed in a yard?
    A

Yes, Demand CS is applied to lawns at the rate of 7ml per 1,000 sq ft. Treatments for chiggers should begin in May and could need to continue through the summer as new chiggers move into the area. Treating the entire lawn is of little benefit because chiggers avoid direct sunlight and normally will not infest areas that are mowed or otherwise well maintained. Focus treatment on the unkempt areas of the lawn and lawn edge. You can also use Demand CS to do a barrier treatment around the outside of your home and in your crawl space to stop pests from moving indoors.

    Q
Can you mix Demand CS and Transport Mikron together for application?
    A
There is no valid reason to mix Transport Mikron and Demand CS together, it would not make either product work better or produce better results, though it could make treated areas repellent to insects which lessening the effectiveness of the treatment. You should choose one product, read the product label and follow it closely.

    Q
Is there anything stronger than Demand CS for spider control?
I've been treating with Demand CS for years and have been generally happy with the results but this summer in particular, I've been having a rough time with some big spiders and I'm looking for something stronger. What is your recommendation?
    A
Demand CS is a pretty hardy product but if you are spraying porous surfaces it may be getting absorbed and in general may be less available to the intruding spiders. Demon WP is our most popular spider control product. Demon WP is a wettable powder insecticide that will stay on the surface of porous areas and may be easier for the spiders to contact. Be sure you are spraying outside around the foundation of your home, around door frames, window frames and any place where the spiders may gain entry indoors to stop these pests before they get inside.

    Q
How do you get rid of Chinese Cockroaches?
We lived in the suburbs of North. Los Angeles. They are in our yard, streets, sidewalks, lawn, they are large and horrible. My husband has sprayed with bug killer in the surrounding areas of the house. The perimeter of the outside concrete walls at night in the morning he finds them dead. Then more come, so he is now using diozon to kill them, but they keep coming. We are not the only ones that have this problem. They are coming out the main sewer system. Is this a City problem? Your answer on this would be very much appreciated. Thank you
    A
I would recommend spraying Demand CS. It is an amazing general insecticide that can be broadcasted across your lawn. This product can also be used inside as well along the baseboards of your home and in cracks and crevices. Roaches do need water to survive so it's possible they live underground. I would call the Cooperative Extension in your area to find out for sure.

    Q
Can Demand CS be applied using the Solo 451 Sprayer?
I have noticed that Cy-Kick cannot, so I'm looking for a different insecticide.
    A

You can use either Cy-Kick CS or Demand CS in a Solo 451 Backpack Sprayer. For Demand CS, use 0.2 - 0.8 fl. oz. of concentrate per gallon of water or per 1,000 square feet. Keep in mind that a mist blower like the Solo will apply product very quickly, so be sure you are using correct use rates when applying product over large areas. You should also be sure to follow all label directions and precautions, such as applying when conditions are calm.

    Q
Can I grow anything in my vegetable garden if someone sprayed Demand CS at the foundation?
I have a small vegetable garden that surrounds the foundation of my house. Demand was inadvertently sprayed around the foundation. This years vegetables have already been pulled up. Will the earth be usable next year? Can I drench it out?
    A

We would recommend contacting the manufacturer of Demand CS directly to see if it would be advisable to plant anything in the area that was treated, or the best method to remove the product from the soil, if possible.  You can reach Syngenta at 866-796-4368.

    Q
Which is best for bed bug control; Suspend SC, Cyonara 9.7 or Demand CS? Which would you use?
I know they are all good, but which is the most effective (with the least chance of harming to humans)?
    A
You are right, all of these products work very well. All three products have an active ingredient that is classified as a synthetic pyrethroid, so they really are very similar in the way that they work. Cyonara and Demand CS share the exact same active ingredient at the exact same concentration, so they do the same job. Suspend SC is a bit more versatile when it comes to bedbug treatments, and it can be sprayed on mattresses, carpets (spot treat only) and on furniture (crack and crevice only) where neither the Demand CS or Cyonara can be applied.

    Q
Biting gnat/noseeums infestation in every room of a large 4 floors house. What's the best plan of action?
No idea where they are coming from. Plants and drains seem to be free of them. Tried vacuuming every other day for weeks now. Fogging didn't work, maybe got more of them via open windows? Impossible to be still anywhere. Want products as a space spray for most active areas, and for rugs, and for general cleaning. Need to be careful around kids/dogs "licking" surfaces. Can be multiple products.
    A

Biting midges do generally not enter structures, but midges are small enough to get through 16 mesh screens. Getting mesh screens with a higher number can keep these and other very tiny insects out of your home. Our experts recommend using a pyrethrin spray such as 565 Plus or Microcare to get rid of the adult midges in or around your home.

Non-biting midges are attracted to lights, so it is recommended to draw your shades at night and wait as long as possible to turn on exterior lights to keep them away from your home. Using the FlyWeb Fly Light inside the home works great on flying insects inside the home.

A great prodcut to use indoors and outdoors on your home that is safe for pets and kids once it has dried it called Onslaught. Onslaught can be used as a broadcast over carpeted areas inside the home mixing at 1oz per gallon of water. Spraying a product such as Onslaught on window screens, doors, bushes, and plants around your home can act as midge repellant to keep midges away.

    Q
Once Demand CS is dried on surface does freezing then matter or should you wait till its above freezing even at night?
    A

It would be best to make the Demand CS application when temperatures are above freezing. This way, the residual does not break down as quickly as when temps are below freezing.

Can Demand Cs be used outside in Cold weather?
During what type of temperatures should I not use Demand CS outside around the perimeter of the home.

As long as it is not freezing outside you can safely use Demand CS outdoors. Since the product is water based trying apply it in below freezing temperatures would not yield positive results.

    Q
Using Demand CS For Stink Bugs
I used D-fense SC (Active Ingredient : 4.75% Deltamethrin) but it did not get rid of my Stink Bugs in the house. So I have 3 questions. #1 Can I use Demand CS right now even though I sprayed the D-fense SC? $2 What areas do I need to spray Demand CS? Is spraying the window frames, house brick walls, and foundation good enough? #3 Lastly is Demand SC safe on aluminum window clad and composite frames?
    A
Yes, you can use Demand SC even though you have already sprayed, although you would want to wait 7 days between treatments. Stink Bugs will try to emerge in the spring and common places that people find stinks bugs are in the window sills and this is a great place to treat along with the baseboards, back behind and underneath appliances, in attics, and where pipes enter the the wall. Demand SC is safe on aluminum and composite frames and will not harm any surface that is tolerable to water.

    Q
Do I have to worry about Demand CS harming nearby small bird families ?
I want to thoroughly spray the outside of my house about mid August. Small birds tend to fly around my house a lot as they like to nest under my porch.
    A
When used as directed on the product label, Demand CS is safe to use outdoors in areas where birds frequent. Be sure the birds are out of the area when the Demand is being applied and try to keep the birds away until the area is dry.

    Q
I'd like to spray my yard with Demand CS for ticks.
However, we have a TON of (now flowering) clover this year, and the bees are everywhere. I certainly don't want to risk hurting them ! This also brings up another question- are there any other "good" bugs that Demand might kill inside or outside the house besides bees ? Thanks.
    A
Demand CS is not a selective insecticide and it will kill most insects that contact the treated area. We recommend learning how to create a tick free zone around your yard and only spraying in those areas where ticks are known to inhabit. Make sure the property around your home is unattractive to ticks. Because ticks are sensitive to dry conditions and do not thrive in short vegetation, they are seldom a problem in well-maintained lawns. Keep your grass mowed and keep weeds cut. Clean up items that attract rodents which can carry ticks, such as spilled birdseed, and hiding places like old wood piles. If ticks are present in vegetation along the edge of the property, insecticides labeled for control of ticks can be applied to small areas of high weeds that cannot be mowed. Often, one or two applications per season will be adequate to control ticks in these areas.
