The Drexel Diuron 80 Herbicide is specially formulated for effective management of many herbaceous weeds as well as perennial and annual grasses. It features dispersible granules that easily mix with water and can be applied as a spray for selective control on crop or non-cropland areas. The herbicide does not cause corrosion to equipment and it is certified non-flammable and non-volatile. Diuron 80 can be administered prior to the development or during the appearance of damaging weeds. It is also great to be utilized as part of an Integrated Pest Management program that can include biological, cultural, and genetic practices aimed at preventing economic pest damage.
Diuron 80 is to be mixed with water and applied as a spray for selective control of weeds in certain crops and for non-selective weed control on non-cropland areas. It is non-corrosive to equipment, nonflammable and nonvolatile.
Diuron 80 may be applied to soil prior to emergence of weeds to control susceptible weed seedlings for an extended period of time; the degree of control and duration of effect will vary with the amount of chemical applied, soil texture, rainfall and other conditions. Soils high in clay or organic matter require higher dosages than soils low in clay or organic matter to obtain equivalent herbicide performance. Moisture is required to activate the chemical; best results occur if rainfall (or sprinkler irrigation) occurs within 2 weeks of application.
Diuron 80, applied pre-emergence, before emergence of crop and weeds, is an effective procedure because susceptible weeds are controlled in an early, vulnerable seedling stage before they compete with the crop. With favorable moisture conditions, Diuron 80 continues to control weeds for some time as the crop becomes better able to compete. Should weed seedlings begin to break through the pre-emergence treatment in significant numbers, secondary weed control procedures should be implemented; these include cultivation and post-emergence herbicide application.
Diuron 80 may also be used to control emerged weeds. Results vary with rate applied and environmental conditions; best results are obtained on succulent weeds growing under conditions of high humidity and temperatures of 70 degrees F or higher. Addition of a non-ionic surfactant to the spray (where recommended) increases contact effects of Diuron 80.
Drexel Diuron 80 Herbicide is not labeled to be used in ponds, lakes, or other bodies of water. You will want to use a pond cleaner such as Crystal Blue Natural Pond Cleaner. Crystal Blue is a specialized blend of naturally occuring bacteria that helps with water clarity, reducing pond odors, clean bottom muck, dead vegetation, fish debris and dead plant matter.
Can Drexel Diuron 80 Herbicide be applied in ponds to kill aquatic vegetation?
Drexel Diuron 80 Herbicide is not labeled to be used in ponds, lakes, or other bodies of water. Diquat is a fast-acting aquatic & landscape herbicide that kills both weeds and grasses. It has a full aquatic label and is not harmful to aquatic animals.
