    Should Final Blox be used in restaurants? Dead and decaying rodents most certainly would leave a foul smell.
    A
    The best way to get rid of the rodents that are already in your restaurant is to trap them with rat snap traps, rat glue boards and/or live catch rat traps. We do not recommend using poison baits indoors because after the rodents eat the bait they may go into an inaccessible area to die causing a terrible odor and possibly even a secondary insect infestation (it is a myth that there is a poison bait that will cause the rats to dry out and not smell or to leave the house in search of water). It is important that you place the traps directly in the rodents travel path and bait them with an attractive bait such as nuts, dog kibble, canned tuna or peanut butter. Be patient, it could take several days or even a couple of weeks before the rodents are comfortable enough with the traps to approach them and be captured. After you have eliminated your current infestation you must take the time to exclude rodents from entering your building in the future.     What if a cat eats a mouse dead from this poison?
    What if dogs or cats eat rodents that have eaten this poison? Will it harm them?
    A

    Pets/animals would generally need to consume their weight in rodents who have perished from Final All-Weather Blox Rodenticide before seeing affects. Pets/animals who are well fed do not tend to feed on mice, only play with them. However if your pet/animal is showing any signs of sickness, it would be best to consult a vet

    How much Final Blox bait should I use per bait box, and how long does it last?
    How often is rebating required? My exterminator is expensive and I am seeking a cost effective alternative.
    A

    Each 18 lb pail of Final Blox contains about 400 blocks, and each 4 lb pail contains about 88 blocks (4 lb pails are sold in a case of 4 only). You would use anywhere from 1-8 blocks per placement, depending on the stations you have, the target rodent, and the level of infestation. Typically you would start around 4 blocks per station for outdoor placements for maintenance, with stations every 15-30 feet for rats. We recommend checking stations at least every 30 days, and more often if you have known rodent activity. Keep in mind that bait will spoil more quickly in very hot and/or humid conditions. It is important to maintain a fresh supply of bait as long as rodents are feeding on it.     Does Final All-Weather Blox Rodenticide kill squirrels & chipmunks?
    Our yard seems to become a haven for squirrels & chipmunks. Will this product kill them?

    Final All-Weather Blox is not labeled for either of those pests so we could not advise on treatment.

    If a dog eats a rodent that has consumed a lethal amount of Final, will it harm / kill the dog?
    I’ve heard that the process of death in the target rodent will neutralize the toxicity so that the non-target animal is safe from harm or death. Is this true?
    A

    Generally if a pet eats a rodent that died from rodent bait such as Final All-Weather Blox Rodenticide it would need to consume it's weight in rodents before getting sick. However, we recommend keeping an eye on your pet, and taking them to a vet if they show any signs of sickness. Make sure you know which bait you used, if you do take them to give them as much information as you can.  There is a very low risk of secondary poisoning.

    Final Blox Rodenticide is labeled for voles and can be used. We do recommend using this product inside of a bait station so that non-target animals do not come in contact with it, placed in runways, near burrow entrys etc. Voles will enter a bait station that is used directly at their burrow entrance.

    Please recommend the best bait killer/ for voles in my yard! Will they go in a bait station like the mice do?

    What is the risk from having a dog eat a slug that had consumed Final bait?
    I have Final Blox in tamper-proof containers next to the house and in the shed. They attract slugs, and I was wondering what would happen if one of my dogs was to eat a slug that has eaten Final Blox. I know there's no effect on the slug, but wondered about a dog that ate the slug.

    The very tiny amount of Final the slug would consume should not be enough to harm a dog. You can put slug bait around and in the bottom of the bait stations to help keep the slugs from eating the bait. Sluggo Plus is great bait and should work well for your needs.

    How long do the Final Blox last once opened?

    The shelf life of the Final Blox once opened is typically 1 year and if unopened up to 2-3 years as long as you store it out of extreme temperatures and the lid is kept tightly closed.

    What is the shelf life of Final Blox Rodenticide?
    I don't really need an 18 pound bucket of this stuff, so I was wondering what the shelf life is. Would it keep better if put in the freezer?

    Can I buy just one 4-lb. pail of Final Blox Rodenticide?

    We apologize but due to EPA restrictions, Final Blox Rodenticide cannot be purchased in a quantity smaller than 16 lbs.  You can purchase Fastrac, Ditrac, or Kaput in single 4-lb. pails.

    Can a mouse have developed a resistance to Final Blox Rodenticide?
    Used the final pellets not the blox, and the mouse still alive.

    Please keep in mind, in can take a week after ingestion for Final Blox Rodenticide to kill a rodent. There are many variables that could determine how effective rodent baiting is. Please see our Rodent Control Guide. If you have been using the same for quite some time, we recommend to swtich it up, because yes, they can build a resisitance. You could consider using a different product like Generation Mini Blocks.

    Is there any reason that rats would not like Final Blox anymore?
    A

    It is possible for rodents to stop feeding on a particular bait such as Final Blox, especially if they have a competing food source nearby or the bait is old. Be sure you are keeping fresh bait in your stations. Ideally, bait should be changed at least every 30 days if it has not been consumed. If you are having trouble with bait acceptance, then you can rotate with a soft bait such as First Strike, or a different block bait such as Gladiator Blox.     Final All-Weather Blox is only sold in 16lbs or greater due to rodent laws passed by the EPA in June of 2011.

    Once Final All-Weather Blox are placed in a bait station and installed in a basement, how long is it effective?

    Final All-Weather Blox or any other rodenticide should be changed at least every 30 days if it has not been consumed. Please keep in mind that you may need to change stations more frequently to be sure that you maintain a fresh supply of rodenticide as long as there is an issue. We recommend using bait in secure bait stations outdoors and using traps indoors to help you avoid getting dead rodents in the structure where you may not be able to locate or remove them.

    How many mice does 1 block kill?
    A
    Final All-Weather Blox is a single feed rodenticide. Single feed means a rodent can consume a lethal dose of Brodifacoum in 1 feeding therefore resulting in death within 1-5 days. The number of rodents that 1 block will treat is undeterminable. Place 3 to 16 Final All-Weather Blox  (usually at intervals of 15 to 30 feet) per placement. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 10 days or until signs of rat activity cease. Replace contaminated or spoiled bait immediately. Collect and dispose of all dead animals and leftover bait properly. To prevent reinfestation, limit sources of rodent food, water, and harborage as much as possible. If reinfestation does occur, repeat treatment. Where a continuous source of infestation is present, establish permanent bait stations and replenish as needed.

    How low of a temperature is Final All-Weather Blox Rodenticide to remain effective? Could these hold up to a Northeast winter in a bait box?

    Final All-Weather Blox is an all-weather bait, meaning, it can withstand any harsh temperatures but the shelf life isn't as long when kept in the harsh temperatures.
