    Should Final Blox be used in restaurants? Dead and decaying rodents most certainly would leave a foul smell.
    A
    The best way to get rid of the rodents that are already in your restaurant is to trap them with rat snap traps, rat glue boards and/or live catch rat traps. We do not recommend using poison baits indoors because after the rodents eat the bait they may go into an inaccessible area to die causing a terrible odor and possibly even a secondary insect infestation (it is a myth that there is a poison bait that will cause the rats to dry out and not smell or to leave the house in search of water). It is important that you place the traps directly in the rodents travel path and bait them with an attractive bait such as nuts, dog kibble, canned tuna or peanut butter. Be patient, it could take several days or even a couple of weeks before the rodents are comfortable enough with the traps to approach them and be captured. After you have eliminated your current infestation you must take the time to exclude rodents from entering your building in the future.     What is the shelf life of Final Blox Rodenticide?
    I don't really need an 18 pound bucket of this stuff, so I was wondering what the shelf life is. Would it keep better if put in the freezer?

    Final Blox Rodenticide has a one year shelf life if stored away from extreme (hot or cold) temperatures.

    Will Final Blox Rodenticide work best on city voles tearing up yards?
    Please recommend the best bait killer/ for voles in my yard! Will they go in a bait station like the mice do?

    Final Blox Rodenticide is labeled for voles and can be used in your lawn. We do recommend using this product inside of a bait station so that non-target animals do not come in contact with it. Yes, voles will enter a bait station that is used directly at their burrow entrance.

    If I can't use Final Blox in CA, what do you recommend and what bait station for voles in my yard & slope?

    How much Final Blox bait should I use per bait box, and how long does it last?
    How often is rebating required? My exterminator is expensive and I am seeking a cost effective alternative.
    A

    Each 18 lb pail of Final Blox contains about 400 blocks, and each 4 lb pail contains about 88 blocks (4 lb pails are sold in a case of 4 only). You would use anywhere from 1-8 blocks per placement, depending on the stations you have, the target rodent, and the level of infestation. Typically you would start around 4 blocks per station for outdoor placements for maintenance, with stations every 15-30 feet for rats. We recommend checking stations at least every 30 days, and more often if you have known rodent activity. Keep in mind that bait will spoil more quickly in very hot and/or humid conditions. It is important to maintain a fresh supply of bait as long as rodents are feeding on it.     Can I buy just one 4-lb. pail of Final Blox Rodenticide?
    A

    We apologize but due to EPA restrictions, Final Blox Rodenticide cannot be purchased in a quantity smaller than 16 lbs.  You can purchase Fastrac, Ditrac, or Kaput in single 4-lb. pails.

    What is the risk from having a dog eat a slug that had consumed Final bait?
    I have Final Blox in tamper-proof containers next to the house and in the shed. They attract slugs, and I was wondering what would happen if one of my dogs was to eat a slug that has eaten Final Blox. I know there's no effect on the slug, but wondered about a dog that ate the slug.

    The very tiny amount of Final the slug would consume should not be enough to harm a dog. You can put slug bait around and in the bottom of the bait stations to help keep the slugs from eating the bait. Sluggo Plus is great bait and should work well for your needs.

    How long do the Final Blox last once opened?

    The shelf life of the Final Blox once opened is typically 1 year and if unopened up to 2-3 years as long as you store it out of extreme temperatures and the lid is kept tightly closed.

    Our yard seems to become a haven for squirrels & chipmunks. Will this product kill them?

    Final All-Weather Blox is not labeled for either of those pests so we could not advise on treatment.

    If a dog eats a rodent that has consumed a lethal amount of Final, will it harm / kill the dog?
    I’ve heard that the process of death in the target rodent will neutralize the toxicity so that the non-target animal is safe from harm or death. Is this true?
    A

    Generally if a pet eats a rodent that died from rodent bait such as Final All-Weather Blox Rodenticide it would need to consume it's weight in rodents before getting sick. However, we recommend keeping an eye on your pet, and taking them to a vet if they show any signs of sickness. Make sure you know which bait you used, if you do take them to give them as much information as you can.  There is a very low risk of secondary poisoning.

    Final All-Weather Blox is an all-weather bait, meaning, it can withstand any harsh temperatures but the shelf life isn't as long when kept in the harsh temperatures.

    Should I replace any chewed on bait with fresh bait or wait until the chewed up block is fully consumed?
    I change the bait every month to keep it fresh in a crawl space as a first line of defense and check it weekly. No activity for a very long time but in the past week Three out of four blocks were chewed up but almost like a chewed up pile of bait remained not a chewed on block.

    Yes, when baiting with Final All-Weather Blox you will want to replace any partially consumed, contaminated or spoiled bait should be replenished immediately. Please remember to wear gloves while handling rodent bait and/or tamper resistant bait stations. Collect and dispose of any chewed, knawed, spoiled or old bait to ensure you are offering fresh bait for rodent control.

    Does Final All-Weather Blox dehydrate them?
    Had to get a professional to use this for me as I can't purchase in my state.( he has 20 years experience) He didn't set mouse traps and strategically placed the blox throughout certain areas (cold room, Attic etc). Saying after a few days the mouse will run out of the house the same way they entered & if they don't there will be no smell because the blood in the mice will dry up. Also saying after a week the mouse will turn into a dry powder. After a week he suggests closing all the entry points he showed me they could have entered. Is he messing with me or has anyone had similar results? I'm having a hard time believing a mouse will turn to powder or a dead mouse will not attract any more bugs etc. Especially because it will be damn near impossible to find then in my Attic. Professionals preferably? Thanks.

    Final All-Weather Blox is an anticoagulant that cause rodents to bleed out internally.  They will not dehydrate and will not exit the structure.  While you can use mouse bait poison indoors, we strongly urge you NOT to do so for this reason. After a mouse consumes a lethal dose of the bait it is possible that the animal can get into an area that is inaccessible making removing the carcass impossible. This can lead to a terrible odor and a secondary insect infestation. If you choose to bait inside, please place mouse bait inside tamper resistant bait stations and place the stations out of reach of non-target animals and children. You should remove mouse carcasses as soon as they are located.  You can refer to our helpful guide on How to Get Rid of Mice for more information and treatment recommendations.

    Will Final All-Weather Blox kill pigeons?

    Final All-Weather Blox is a rodenticide labeled to target rats, mice and voles, and should be placed in secured and tamper-resistant bait stations out of reach from birds or other non-target animals.  As stated on the product label, "This product is extremely toxic to mammals and birds.  Dogs, cats and other predatory and scavenging mammals and birds might be poisoned if they feed upon animals that have eaten this bait."

    Will Final Blox kill hogs?
    A

     Final Blox Rodenticide will not kill hogs. There are no poison baits for hogs. You would need to reach out to your local Wildlife Management Dept for assistance on trapping or shooting the hogs.

    Once Final All-Weather Blox are placed in a bait station and installed in a basement, how long is it effective?
    A

    Final All-Weather Blox or any other rodenticide should be changed at least every 30 days if it has not been consumed. Please keep in mind that you may need to change stations more frequently to be sure that you maintain a fresh supply of rodenticide as long as there is an issue. We recommend using bait in secure bait stations outdoors and using traps indoors to help you avoid getting dead rodents in the structure where you may not be able to locate or remove them.

    Does Final All-Weather Blox come in a smaller size like 8 or 10 pound pail?

    Final All-Weather Blox is only sold in 16lbs or greater due to rodent laws passed by the EPA in June of 2011.
