Application Tips:
- Apply Astro when insects appear or when you notice they’ve been feeding.
- For foliar insect applications, apply 4 to 8 ounces per 100 gallons, completely covering foliage.
- For trunk and stem applications to control borers and beetles, apply 1.0 to 5.3 quarts per 100 gallons, completely covering trunks and stems up to 10 feet from the ground.
Ornamentals in greenhouses and interiorscapes, in residential landscaped areas, around institutional, public, commercial and industrial buildings, parks, recreational areas and athletic fields, use 4 to 8 ounces per 100 gallons of water.
Ornamental trees, use 1 to 5 quarts per 100 gallons of water.
Lawns (around residential, institutional, public, commercial and industrial buildings, parks, recreational areas and athletic fields, use 0.4 to o.8 ounces per 1,000 square feet.

Read Full Answer »Astro Insecticide only has a residual of about 30 days on outside surfaces. It should only be used for prevention on healthy trees applied directly to the bark and branches up to 15 feet.   Infected trees should be cut down (before the newly hatched beetles fly out of the trees in the spring/summer) and the wood burned or chipped, while other still healthy trees should be sprayed annually to protect them. Because of the natural boring behavior of the beetle they are protected from topically applied insecticides and systemic insecticides (those injected into the tree or applied as a root drench) have proven ineffectiveQHow long can I leave my mix of FMC Astro Insecticide and water in my 4 gallon back sprayer and the mix still be effective?AOnce FMC Astro Insecticide is diluted with water, you should use the finished solution within 24 hrs of mixing for the most effective results.
