The Prodiamine in the product is a weed preventer and is not safe for use in an edible area. You would need to use a regular just glyphosate product like the original Hi Yield Killzall which will kill any existing plants its sprayed on and can be replanted in that area within about 2 weeks. If there are any plants with tubers such as nutsedge, this is not a way to prevent this plant and it will have to be spot treated as it comes up.Â

Hi-Yield Killzall Extended Control states on the product label, "Add 3 to 5.75 fluid ounces to 1 gallon of water and treat 1,000 sq. ft." Therefore, at the higher rate, 287.5 oz. per 50 gal. would treat 50,000 sq. ft.

Per the product label, when spraying around the base of well-established (at least 6 months old) ornamental plants, shrubs, or trees, shield desirable plants from drift with a sheet of cardboard or plastic. Use caution to prevent application to green stems and leaves, damage can occur. -

Hi-Yield Killzall Extended Control has always use a combination of Glyphosate and Prodiamine to provide both pre- and post-emergent control of weeds. This will kill actively growing weeds and prevent weeds from germinating for 3-6 months when used according to the product label directions.
