Image Herbicide for St. Augustine Grass and Centipede Grass kills many tough weeds such as dollarweed, poa annua, sandspur, and Florida betony. The active ingredient atrazine begins killing weeds on contact by preventing them from being able to absorb energy from the sun, essentially starving them to death. Visible results can be seen within 1 to 4 weeks. It can be applied during dormant as well as growing seasons for post emergent and pre emergent weed control but best results usually occur when the product is applied in the early spring or during dormant periods when the weeds are small or have yet to emerge.

Established St. Augustinegrass and Centipedegrass:
Image Herbicide may be applied during both dormant and growing seasons. Best results are usually obtained when applied in early Spring or dormant periods when weeds are small or have not emerged. Do not apply more than two treatments per year. Image Herbicide controls Spurweed, Florida Betony, Annual Bluegrass and many other problem weeds in St. Augustinegrass and Centipedegrass turfs.
Image Herbicide will control both emerged weeds and weeds from seeds. Rain or water within 2 or 3 days of application may decrease the effectiveness on emerged weeds. However, for the control of weeds from seeds, rainfall or watering is necessary within 7 to 10 days after treatment.
Spurweed:
Control of Spurweed can best be obtained by applying when Spurweed has newly emerged (December and January).
Florida Betony:
This weed emerges in the Fall. Apply Image Herbicide in mid to late October followed by a second application in mid to late February.
Dichondra, Moneywort:
Apply Image Herbicide in early April followed by a second application in July.
Note: Applications for Spurweed or Florida Betony generally will give control or suppression of the other listed weeds. However, as a general rule, Image Herbicide will give best control when applied to young tender weeds or just prior to weed emergence.

Image Herbicide for St Augustine Grass and Centipede Grass RTS is only labeled for St Augustine and Centipede grasses. For zoysia we would recommend you may want to try the Image Kills Nutsedge Concentrate which is labeled for use on zoysia and other warm season lawns.

I used it about two weeks ago on my St. Augustine lawn to kill Florida betony and clover. The temperature was about 70. So far there is no yellowing or other sign that the weeds are dying. How long does it take?
When treating for clover and Florida betony, you will get best results in the Fall. Per the Image product label, you should apply Image in mid to late October followed by a second application in mid to late February when treating Florida Betony. You may need multiple applications to control clovers, as well, when using atrazine. Clovers will not be actively growing in the Spring, either, so it is harder to control weeds with herbicides when they are not actively growing.
