Weed Resistance Management Directions

Glyphosate resistant biotypes can be minimized by utilizing the following weed resistance management instructions:

  1. Begin by preparing your field using tillage or a burndown herbicide application.
  2. It is a good practice to scout your fields before and after applications.
  3. Use new commercial seeds that have fewer weed seeds.
  4. Apply early control of weeds that are relatively small.
  5. Cultural practices such as crop rotation or tillage and the addition of other herbicides such as a selective and/or a residual herbicide where appropriate are suggested.
  6. Rotating to other Roundup Ready crops is one method for adding other herbicides into a continuous Roundup Ready system.
  7. Follow the specified label rate for the most difficult to control weeds. Reject directions that support lower application rates when tank mixing as well as tank mixtures with other herbicides that will reduce product efficacy.
  8. Follow good agricultural practices by cleaning equipment prior to shifting from field to field preventing weed seed or plant root parts from spreading.
  9. Any incidence of repeated non-performance of this product on a particular weed should be reported to any Voluntary Purchasing Groups, Inc. representative, your county extension agent or to the local retailer.

Q
How long does Killzall II last? How many gallons does it make?

I need this in my pine straw areas killing everything. I'm a disabled veteran and it's to hard to pull weeds!! I need it to last a year. I live in north Georgia.

A

Killzall II Weed and Grass Killer contains glyphosate as the active ingredient, a non-selective that can kill weeds growing around the pine straw, and it can kill down to the roots but the active doesn't last long in the soil. Depending on the type of weeds you're trying to kill, Killzall II will make anywhere from 24 to over 400 gallons of solution. If you want to have an active that will prevent weeds from growing in the area for up to, or close to, a year you can use a product like TVC Total Vegetation Control which is a soil sterilant and it can be mixed with Killzall II Weed and Grass Killer.
