Works great, very easy to install. The glue boards are very easy to change, slide the old out and slide the new in.

    Looking good so far :-)

    By Ty on 03/23/2012

I got tired of the little gnats and flies appearing out of nowhere every time I start baking. So I did some research and gave this light a try. It caught nothing but gnats the first couple of weeks. Then 3 days ago I saw a fly and couldn't wait for its capture. Well 2 days later I'm still seeing this fly, upset I went ahead and killed it. When I checked the trap to see if I got anymore gnats, I saw 2 flies and that spider flying looking bug. It wasnt the same fly and got so excited that I'm no longer chasing down 3-5 flies EVERY time I bake.

    Flies!

    By Ashley on 06/16/2011

Works really well! Only catch is that all doors and windows must be closed in order for it to really control flies. Once all windows and doors are closed all flies are eliminated within minutes! Would def recommend to others. Sticky refills are too expensive!

    Luralite 405435FL Pro Fly Light

    By Ed on 09/08/2014

    Verified Purchase

When the product arrived, my first impression was "It is much bigger than I though it would be." I installed it out of line of sight of the door and plugged it in. Wow! 2 weeks later I had to change the glue pad. If you buy one of these get a couple of replacement packs. They work!

    Keep flying insects out

    By Steve on 06/14/2011

    Verified Purchase

I've been using the light in my mudroom and haven't noticed any insects in my house this spring. I just checked the glue trap and was very pleasantly surprised. It's a lot of light but my wife doesn't mind. I ordered another package of glue traps.

Sort Questions
Q
Does the Luralite Pro Fly Light trap make a noise when trapping the fly?
A

The Luralite Pro Fly Light and other light traps are not electric "zapper" traps that you might traditionally think of.  Although, they use a UV light to attract the fly, the light traps use a sticky glue board that the fly will stick to once it lands in the trap.  So there is no noise or attention brought to the light whatsoever.

Q
How often do the bulbs need to be replaced in the Luralite Pro Fly Light?

Do I change periodically or when burned out?

A

The Luralite Pro Fly Light shows that the 15-watt 18" UV bulbs should be replaced every 6 months to be the most effective. For areas where fly pressure is only seasonal, you may change the bulbs annually in the Spring. UV lightbulbs will generally lose their efficacy before they burn out.

Q
Luralite Pro Placement

If I am having bugs at my rear porch glass door, should I place this unit next to the door or a little ways away from the door?

A
You want to place the Luralite Pro within 5 -10 feet of the door where the fly activity is .

Q
Is there any chance of bad smells coming from dead flies when using the Luralite 405435FL Pro Fly Light?
A
The Luralite 405435FL Pro Fly Light is not a "zapper" type of fly light so there should not be any smells with dead flies as they are adhered to a glueboard.
