Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone is a combination of four proven Weed Killers: 2,4-D, mecoprop-p, dicamba and carfentrazone-ethyl. Post-emergent applications of this will control a wide range of broadleaf lawn weeds in cool and warm-season residential lawns. Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone is fast acting with noticeable effects just hours after the application and plants death within 7-14 days after the application.
Do not use this on Floratam or Bitterblue varieties of St. Augustinegrass in Florida.

Turfgrass Tolerance:
The turfgrass tolerance to Fertilome Weed Free Zone may vary and temporary turfgrass yellowing may occur on St. Augustinegrass and certain varieties of Hybrid Bermudagrass.
Fertilome Weed Free Zone may injure certain turfgrass species. To reduce the risk of lawn injury, avoid spraying drought stressed lawns or when temperatures are above 90 degrees F.
WHEN TO APPLY
Spray when broadleaf weeds are young and actively growing for best results.
Fertilome Weed Free Zone may be applied in the spring, summer, or fall.
Spring and fall treatments under adequate soil moisture conditions are preferred to the summer treatments. Generally, summer broadcast applications to older, drought-stressed weeds are less effective.
Broadcast (entire areas) applications or follow-up applications at 2-6 week intervals are recommended for more mature weeds, for dense infestations, and for adverse environmental conditions.
Spot treatments during summer may be appropriate for sparse infestations, or as a follow-up treatment, or any time broadleaf weeds are susceptible.

The maximum application rate is 3.0 fl oz of product/1,000 sq ft per application.
The maximum number of broadcast applications is limited to 2 per year.
The maximum seasonal rate is 6.0 fl oz of product/1,000 sq ft excluding spot treatments.

SPOT TREATMENTS FOR COOL SEASON TURFGRASS. HAND OPERATED OR PUMP-UP SPRAYERS
For cool-season turfgrass, mix 1.5-2.0 fl. oz. of Fertilome Weed Free Zone per 1.0 gallon of water for treatment of approximately 1,000 sq. ft. of turfgrass. Apply any time the emerged broadleaf weeds are susceptible. Spray the target weeds thoroughly and wet the entire leaf surface of the undesirable plants.
Equal measures: 1.0 fl. oz. = 2 tablespoons, 1 tablespoon = 3 teaspoons

Weed Free Zone is the best weed killer I have ever used. Not only does it work flawlessly, but the weeds are brown and shriveled in as little as two days. Sure it's pricey, but it WORKS. So many times I have tried other weed killers from companies such as Ortho, like you get at a home center, and it takes forever to kill the weeds. WFZ is the champion of weed killers in my book. Not the most environmentally friendly product out there, but when you need weeds killed and killed fast, you can't beat WFZ.

Weed Free Zone is the only product that I have found that will control wild violets in my grass. But, it does take more than one application especially on older, more mature plants. Of course it works great on the regular broad leaf weeds too. Don't forget to use a surfactant so that the product will wet the leaves.

Weed Free Zone for Dandelions

I have been using this Fertilome Weed Free Zone on Dandelions for three years. I have been individually hand spraying them because they said not to use a broadcast sprayer. Applying it is in the spring and twice in September as instructed. I have more than when I started. I think it actually multiplies them. It does not appear to have any killing affect on dandelions at all. Very high cost for very poor performance. Recommend not wasting your money.

Only rain or watering within 4 hours of application of the Fertilome Weed Free Zone would decrease the effectiveness. Rain 24 hours after application should not effect the application.
