The Protecta EVO Edge Bait Station is a mulitpurpose rodent bait station that is easy to service and use. These stations open and lock quickly and easily with the included EVO key. The stations feature a side-opening design, a built-in service record card holder, and unique rounded interior walls which ehlp to make servicing fast to increase technician productivity. Each station has can securely hold up to eight 28g or four 225g bait blocks inside with the included vertical securing rods. The stations can hold either 2 Mini T-Rex Mouse Traps, or 1 T-Rex Rat Trap.

not the same quality as my older model

I have several bait stations that are ten-fifteen years old. They are much better. The pins that hold the baits clip into very well-defined holes and are much sturdier. The separation from the entrance to the bait is much more defined. These pins wobble. There is no noticeable bottom to the holes so you don't know when they are actually in all of the way. The baits will actually sit in any water that makes it in, where the older stations have the bait suspended.
I am worried about the feral cats in the area and them getting secondary poison, does this trap contain the rats or do they eat the poison from the trap and leave?
The Protecta EVO Edge is a bait station houses the poison so that the rodents can feed on it as the need. They would not be trapped inside the station and would be able to come and go. If you use a bait that has an acute kill, such as Fastrac Blox, you would not need to worry about secondary poisoning risks. Contrac Blox is an alternative rodenticide where secondary poisoning is very minimal.
