Product Overview

Talon-G is scientifically proven to deliver the fastest knockdown for rats and mice. This unique mini-pellet formulation is preferred by pest control professionals for its high acceptance, superior efficacy and broad use label. Talon-G only requires a low dosage of the anticoagulant brodificoum, which often eliminates the common problem of bait shyness. Talon-G is offered in a convenient 5 lb. tip and pour bottle (shown here) and also in throw packs.  Talon G Rodenticide Pellets should be used in tamper-resistant bait stations.

Details

Talon G is a single-feed anticoagulant labeled for rodent control, including use against warfarin-resistant mice and rats. This pelletized formulation is registered for use in and around both urban and non-urban structures, including outdoor burrow baiting. Talon G is approved for the control of Norway rats, roof rats and house mice in a variety of locations. Determine areas where rats and/or mice will most likely find and consume bait. Remove as many other rodent food sources as possible. For the safety of others, Talon G should always be applied out of reach by children, domestic animals and non-target wildlife, or in tamper-resistant bait stations.

Q
Will Talon G Rodenticide Pellets keep dead mice from smelling bad?

I was given the name of this product because I understood there was no smell after death of the mouse. True?

A

Unfortunately, neither Talon G Rodenticide Pellets nor any other rodenticide will prevent decaying dead rodents from producing an odor. The mode of action of Rat X rodenticide may reduce odors from dead rodents, but it will not eliminate it on its own. Because there is no guarantee as to where rodents will die if they have consumed bait that is indoors, we recommend to limit bait use to outdoor areas. Indoors, using traps allows you to remove dead rodents, eliminating that risk of secondary problems like bad odors and insect infestations. Please see our Mouse Treatment Guide for more tips and information about how to control mouse infestations.

Also, most loose pelleted baits have been discontinued due to new EPA regulations concerning rodenticides. The pellets are instead packaged into place packs that the rodents will chew through to get to the pelleted bait inside. Popular choices include Fastrac Place Pacs and Contrac Rodent Place Pacs.

Q
Can Talon G be used for burrow baiting for Norway rats?

Can this be used in burrows within 100 ft of a man made structure? Would a light pole be considered a man made structure?

A

Talon G Rodenticide Pellets does not state that it can be used for burrow baiting on the product label.  It should only be used within tamper resistant bait stations.  A light pole would not be considered a man made structure.  Examples of such structures include homes and other permanent or temporary residences, food-processing facilities, industrial and commercial buildings, trash receptacles, transport vehicles (ships, trains, aircraft), docks, and port of terminal buildings and related structures around and associated with these sites.
