You do not have to wait 3 months. We recommend allowing a few weeks before plugging, in order tho allow the adults to carry the dust inside of the holes to the larvae.

There is not an insecticide mixed with the plugs. They are normal plastic plugs for plugging holes from performing a termite treatment, or for plugging carpenter bee holes. If you are plugging carpenter bee holes, then you should treat the holes before plugging them with a dust product.&…

If you are plugging carpenter bee holes, then you should treat the holes before plugging them with a dust product. It is highly recommended to treat with the carpenter bee kit on our website which comes with plugs. -

The Trebor plugs are gray. You can paint the top of them though (the top is all you will see once placed in the holes).
