Will the Wasp and Hornet Control Kit kill any wasps returning to the nest?

A

Yes, the Temprid SC in the Wasp and Hornet control kit will leave a residual lasting about 30 days that will continue killing wasps and hornets as they come in contact with the product that has been applied around the nest.

WIll the Wasp and Hornet Control Kit work for a paper wasp nest that is inside the siding of my house?
I can see the wasps going in and out, but I will not be able to directly hit the nest, because it is under the siding. Would you recommend this product or something else? I live in Michigan. I believe they are paper wasps, because they build nests that are open, without a cover.

We recommend that you use a hand duster and apply a dust such as Tempo dust to the holes where the wasps are going in and out. The dust will help eliminate the wasps in the nest and any other wasps returning to the nest. It usually works within 24 to 48 hours. You want to go up to the opening where they are flying in and out of at dusk or at night when they are not active and puff twice directly into the hole. Then pull the duster out and puff directly at the hole to cover the opening from about 5 inches away. This is the most efficient and fastest way to eliminate a bee/yellow jacket/wasp nest.

Do I need to know EXACTLY where there nest is??
So I know the nest on top of our guest bedroom roof, under our carport, where a bunch of new plumbing pipes are being stored. Can I just spray up in there and around that area? or do I really need to find the actual nest?

A

To eradicate a wasp or hornets nest, you really need to know where the nest is. Blindly spraying with the Wasp and Hornet Control Kit would not guarantee that the problem could go away and may even pose more of a threat to the applicator.

You will mix the Temprid SC Insecticide- 8 ml per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft applied with a pressurized sprayer such as a Chapin 1 gallon hand pump sprayer. *If you are not already wearing gloves, we recommend wearing gloves such as Nitrile Chemical Resistant Gloves when handling, mixing, and …

Add 1/3 - 1/2 of the desired volume of water to your spray tank, add the desired amount of Temprid SC, then shake or agitate the tank. Add the remaining volume of water, then agitate again before spraying. *Use 2 x 8mL doses of Temprid SC per gallon of water to treat wasps, hornets, and yellow jackets. *If the nest poses an immediate threat, first treat a 2-3 foot area surrounding the nest with a fan or cone spray. *Adjust spray nozzle to a fine pin stream, then spray directly into the center of the nest. *Once the application has dried, remove and destroy the nest, if possible.

What can we use to kill bees in a tree?
These bees were very large and only came out at night this year we are infested with a bug we aren't sure what kind it looks like an ant or termite there are big holes at the bottom of the tree and smaller holes all around the tree do you have any idea what it is and how to treat it I m afraid the tree will be hollow on the inside due to this problem

Cicada Killers are actually benificial insects and will not harm you, your son or your dog. They are not aggressive insects just ominous looking because of their size, and you would literally have to take one and force it on your skin to get it to bite you. If you are wanting to eliminate them, the best way to treat is to use a dust in each hole in the yard. This may seem extremely time consuming and tedious but it is truly the most effective and thorough treatment method. Dusting the holes with something like Tempo 1% Dust will allow it to flow through the nest better than a liquid. You could also use the Talstar P or the liquid version of Tempo-Tempo SC Ultra-since it has a quicker knock down to control the surface areas they could land to help control new ones that enter the area. Dust the holes and treat plant/lawn surfaces with Tempo every 30 days through the season. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Honey bees are in steep decline and the law dictates they should only be killed after a bee keeper has been consulted and cannot help safely remove the colony. You can locate local bee keepers by contacting your local cooperative extension office. If this is not an option for you, you can use a hand duster to apply a dust product such as Tempo Dust into and around the area where the bees seem to be gaining access to your home. Over a period of a couple of days to a week (timeline will depend on how many bees are contacting the treated area) this will kill off the colony that has taken up residence in your home. Any insecticide applications should be done very early in the morning or very late in the evening when the bees are less active. After the bees have been eliminated it is important to remove the bee hive from the void where the bees were nesting. Failure to remove the hive can lead to mold issues and secondary infestation from hive beetles and other insects. If the bee hive is in an area that is not easily accessible you may want to consider hiring a professional pest control operator.

Will Wasp and Hornet Control Kit hurt shingles?
I know the normal wasp spray contains petroleum which is bad for shingles on the home and I was wondering if this product would effect the shingle in any way if sprayed on it?

The products in the Wasp and Hornet Control Kit should not hurt shingles if used per the labeled directions. It is always recommended to test a small inconspicuous area before application to be sure.
