Great gopher trap

I've been using these traps for years but you have to do one thing for them to work. If you do this one thing, you will catch gophers 85% of the time. You must seal every hole so there is no air and no light entering the trap.

In my humble opinion having trapped gophers for over 30+years, the Wilco Woody Box Trap is not the so-called "best" trap out there. In fact, it is inferior to the Victor Black Box Trap model #625 (now no longer available). The 625 Victor is by far a better trap for a few good reasons: 1 The trap is made of hardened/heavy duty and durable plastic, not wood! 2. It is constructed so that the farmer can set the sensitivity of the trap, This is very important when trying to trap more difficult gophers. 3. Try leaving a wooden trap outside in the rain for a few years.

The Best No Longer

I have been using these traps for about 30 years and they always outperformed any other on the market. Was glad to find them online as my last one was starting to fall apart. A slight difference in the trigger mechanism made the new one I received unusable. The tension on the trigger pan would pull it up into the top of trap making it unable to move and therefore trip the crossbar that caught the gopher. I tried slight bends to different parts of the mechanism to fix the issue but was unable to get it to work. Hope this was a fluke and only affected the one I received.
