Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide should not be used around edible vegetation not listed on the product label. You should not treat inside the dripline or within 15 ft of the tree (outside the root zone).  Instead, you can use a nonselective product like Gly-phosel Pro taking care to avoid contact with the tree/roots themselves.
