Alpine WSG is a water soluable granule which must be dissolved in water and sprayed. It can not be applied as a granular broadcast application.
Alpine WSG can be purchased 24/7 on our site, or you can call and place your order with one of our associates by calling 1-866-581-7378 M-F 9am-5pm EST.
You can use 10-30g of Apline WSG per gallon of water depending on which pest(s) you are treating. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions. NyGuard IGR is mixed at 3ml per gallon of water so you would need have the rate of each for the ½ gallon container of water used for application
Alpine WSG is not labeled to treat box elder bugs. You may want to consider a product like Onslaught Insecticide instead.
Alpine WSG is applied at 10 g per 1,000 sq ft. Please refer to the product label for full instructions on dilution and application.
Alpine WSG is not specifically labeled for gnats. “Gnats” is a very general term used to describe a wide variety of small flying pests including fruit flies, drain flies, fungus gnats, no-see-ums, mosquitoes, etc. You can use a general insecticide like Talstar P on the outside of your home on all the window and door frames and on window screens to try and prevent pests from entering your home. We cannot give more specific information or treatment products unless we know exactly what species of pest you are dealing with so that we can narrow down where the problem is coming from and address it directly. Please review our Getting Rid of Gnats article for more information.
Unfortunately, Alpine WSG is not labeled for the control of silverfish. You could use Bifen IT instead, it is labeled to control silverfish.
The rate for bed bugs is 10 to 30 grams of Alpine WSG. You can go at the high rate, to begin with, and make spot applications to the cracks and crevices.
We would recommend using the Temprid FX along to kill the bed bugs because you will be spraying in the same areas which would render each ineffective if sprayed over each other.
The Alpine WSG uses Dinotefuran which is a non repellent so it is a slower kill but will transfer throughout the colony better than contact insecticides. Some may die sooner, those that directly contacted the treated area as opposed to those the active ingrdient was transferred to.
Alpine WSG is mixed at 30 grams per gallon of water. Per page 6 of the product label for yellow jackets, when treating nests inside wall voids, inject an amount sufficient to treat the entire nest. Most applications should require about ½ gallon of mixed solution. It also emphasizes that this product does NOT provide an instant knockdown.Alpine WSG is labeled for use on ornamental plants only, you would not use any vegetable garden plants. You can browse our Insecticides for use on edible plants here.
If the stink bugs and spiders are your primary concern, we recommend using the 30 gram per gallon rate of Alpine WSG. If ants are your primary target, then using 20 grams per gallon will give you a slightly slower kill to improve the transfer effect.
Please view the product label for more information.
Alpine WSG is not labeled for ornamental pests such as scale. We suggest Safari 20SG which has many applications for ornamental plants. Since orchids can be very sensitive, we always recommend testing a small area first for tolerance or consulting with a local or national orchid care group for their advice as well.
According to the mixing instructions on the manufacturer's label for Alpine WSG, you should add approximately 1/2 of the water to the spray tank, add the product to the water, then complete filling the spray tank. You should then agitate the tank unit until the product is completely dissolved. Reagitate the finished dilution if application is interrupted for an extended period of time.
This water soluble granule insecticide should not need excessive agitation, but should be agitated thoroughly to ensure that it goes into solution completely before applying.
No, Alpine WSG is not labeled to target termites.
Please view our Termite Control Page for product recommendations to treat for Subterranean and Drywood Termites.
Because Alpine WSG is a non-repellent that works by slowly allowing the targeted ants to transfer the active ingredient around to eliminate the colony, the results will not be immediate. As long as the ant gets enough of the product on their body, it should kill them in a matter of days or weeks.
For spot applications, crack and crevice or void treatments, retreatments can be done at 3 day intervals if needed or for general surface treatments, retreat at 6 day intervals.
Please view the full product label for more information.
Yes, Alpine WSG would leave behind some residual on a porous surface, however some will inevitably absorb in as well. When treating exterior surfaces, it is recommended to treat the foundation and soil around the exterior perimeter as well as where utilities enter the home, gaps and voids in siding, around windows, doors and other entry points where insects may enter.
View page 7 for more information on the product label.
Alpine WSG is a non repellent insecticide therefore will not provide an immediate or quick knockdown of insects. Non repellents are slower acting which is best for social insects such as ants, roaches, etc as it allows the ants to transfer the active ingredient throughout the colony.
This product leaves a 30 to 60 day residual outdoors. Applications should be made to any trails, inside or outside, around doors and windows and other places where ants may enter premises.
For indoor applications, using Alpine WSG along with both an ant bait gel (sweet) and granule bait (protein) in bait plate stations is a very effective treatment.
Unfortunately Alpine WSG excludes fire ants but is labeled for roaches. Advion WDG Insecticide is labeled for ants in general with no exclusions & is also labeled for roaches
Alpine WSG will not be effective on fire ant mounds, please read our Fire Ant Guide to check our selection of fire ant control products.
