Alpine WSG is not labeled to treat box elder bugs. You may want to consider a product like Onslaught Insecticide instead.
Alpine WSG is applied at 10 g per 1,000 sq ft. Please refer to the product label for full instructions on dilution and application.
Alpine WSG is not specifically labeled for gnats. “Gnats” is a very general term used to describe a wide variety of small flying pests including fruit flies, drain flies, fungus gnats, no-see-ums, mosquitoes, etc. You can use a general insecticide like Talstar P on the outside of your home on all the window and door frames and on window screens to try and prevent pests from entering your home. We cannot give more specific information or treatment products unless we know exactly what species of pest you are dealing with so that we can narrow down where the problem is coming from and address it directly. Please review our Getting Rid of Gnats article for more information.
Alpine WSG https://www.domyown.com/alpine-wsg-p-2876.html has a residual of 30-60 days so retreatment may be done after 30 days. How long it takes to kill insects depends on a few factors such as age and health of the insect, how long they spend on the treated surface and how soon after application they contact it. How long it takes to eliminate a roach infestation depends on how large the infestation is, how consistent and thorough you are being with treatments and what products you are using. There is not a set time; it can take but it can take weeks or months even to get complete control. Alpine WSG is typically not used alone but in combination with other products. We would recommend one of our roach control kits. You can see the kits by clicking on the link here. We also have a great article for eliminating them that can offer some great advice; you can find it here.
Alpine WSG is a non repellent insecticide therefore will not provide an immediate or quick knockdown of insects. Non repellents are slower acting which is best for social insects such as ants, roaches, etc as it allows the ants to transfer the active ingredient throughout the colony.
This product leaves a 30 to 60 day residual outdoors. Applications should be made to any trails, inside or outside, around doors and windows and other places where ants may enter premises.
For indoor applications, using Alpine WSG along with both an ant bait gel (sweet) and granule bait (protein) in bait plate stations is a very effective treatment.
Unfortunately Alpine WSG excludes fire ants but is labeled for roaches. Advion WDG Insecticide is labeled for ants in general with no exclusions & is also labeled for roaches
Unfortunately, Alpine WSG is not labeled for the control of silverfish. You could use Bifen IT instead, it is labeled to control silverfish.
We recommend that only the applicator is present during the application of Alpine WSG. Once the surfaces treated are completely dried it is safe to return. You will want to make sure that is ventilated as much as possible and return about 2-4 hours later.
Alpine WSG will not be effective on fire ant mounds, please read our Fire Ant Guide to check our selection of fire ant control products.
Alpine WSG is labeled for use in horse barns. Be sure to read the complete product label prior to your application.
We recommend contacting your local waste management facility for instructions on where to take Alpine WSG waste in your area.
The rate for bed bugs is 10 to 30 grams of Alpine WSG. You can go at the high rate, to begin with, and make spot applications to the cracks and crevices.
We would recommend using the Temprid FX along to kill the bed bugs because you will be spraying in the same areas which would render each ineffective if sprayed over each other.
Alpine WSG and Cy-kick CS should not be tank mixed together as the Cy Kick CS will counteract the non repellency of the Dinotefuran actve ingrdient.
Alpine WSG is labeled for use on ornamental plants only, you would not use any vegetable garden plants. You can browse our Insecticides for use on edible plants here.
If the stink bugs and spiders are your primary concern, we recommend using the 30 gram per gallon rate of Alpine WSG. If ants are your primary target, then using 20 grams per gallon will give you a slightly slower kill to improve the transfer effect.
Please view the product label for more information.
Alpine WSG is not labeled for ornamental pests such as scale. We suggest Safari 20SG which has many applications for ornamental plants. Since orchids can be very sensitive, we always recommend testing a small area first for tolerance or consulting with a local or national orchid care group for their advice as well.
You can mix Alpine WSG with 1 to 2 oz of Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate in place of ExciteR Insecticide.
Please follow tank mixing procedures per the individual product labels and follow the more restrictive label on tank mxing.
Alpine WSG is not suppose to stain surfaces. We would recommend contacting the manufacturer at 1 800 526-1072 for more information on this matter.
According to the mixing instructions on the manufacturer's label for Alpine WSG, you should add approximately 1/2 of the water to the spray tank, add the product to the water, then complete filling the spray tank. You should then agitate the tank unit until the product is completely dissolved. Reagitate the finished dilution if application is interrupted for an extended period of time.
This water soluble granule insecticide should not need excessive agitation, but should be agitated thoroughly to ensure that it goes into solution completely before applying.
