  • Product Overview

Altosid Liquid Larvicide is an insect growth regulator that features a microencapsulated formula with the active ingredient (S)-methoprene to prevent adult mosquito emergence in larvae. This formula prevents larvae from becoming adult mosquitoes that can transmit Zika virus, West Nile virus, Chikungunya and Dengue fever. Altosid should be applied during the second, third, or fourth instar larvae and not at pupae or adult stage. After application, pupae will appear unaffected but will eventually die and not emerge into adults. Infrequently, there may be a few adults seen but will have abnormaltities and will not survive. Altosid may be use for aerial and ground ULV applications and has extended residual control that minimizes the need for costly reapplications. This product comes in a 16 oz pint bottle with a pipette.
