Avert Dry Flowable Cockroach Bait has been called one of the most attractive and economical baits on the market today. Avert Dry Flowable bait with .05% Abamectin readily attracts and controls both bait-averse and non-bait averse cockroaches. Since it is a dry powder, it will not dry out like gel baits. In fact, Avert Dry Flowable Cockroach Bait is guaranteed effective up to one year and in most cases the bait will stay effective for several years! Apply in small dabs around kitchens, bathrooms and other areas where roaches tend to flourish. 1 tube = 1.06 ounces
Avert Dry Flowable clings to roach bodies when they walk through it. The powder is later ingested when the roaches preen themselves. The active ingredient Abamectin B1 interferes with the insect's nerve impulses and begins affecting cockroach populations within 24 hours. This type of insecticide allows the cockroach time to return to the colony, where the insecticide can be passed to other cockroaches, which minimizes reproduction and ultimately reduces and controls the population.
Avert Dry Flowable Cockroach Bait is guaranteed effective up to one year, making it a great economical choice. The powder formula can also be easily applied deep into cracks, crevices, and wall voids where other gels and baits don’t reach. This makes Avert Dry Flowable a great choice for areas at high risk of infestations or re-introductions, especially since bait can be applied in hidden areas where roaches can find it before having the chance to establish a population. Avert Dry Flowable has the formulation and low application rates of dusts paired with the speed and transfer affect of baits. The enclosed crack and crevice tool also makes application easy as no other equipment is needed to apply. Be sure to eliminate water sources since this is a dry bait (also consider using it in conjunction with a gel bait).
Avert Dry Flowable’s labeling does not exclude any roaches, and it includes additional pests like ants, earwigs, pantry pests, and carpet beetles, making it a great choice in any Integrated Pest Management program. Baits are also always a great choice in areas where the use of sprays is prohibited or undesirable. (Do not apply sprays on top of Avert or in areas where Avert will be applied.)
The closer you can put the bait to where cockroaches live and breed, the more likely they are to consume it. Avert Dry Flowable is intended for application with the supplied hand duster to hiding and runway areas and those places where pests are found. Apply insecticide directly into cracks and crevices. Apply lightly and uniformly to infested areas. Pay particular attention to cracks and crevices; service ducts; false floors and ceilings; wall voids; around electrical and telephone fittings and equipment; around water and sewer pipes; under and behind cabinets, refrigerators and sinks; around window and door frames; and in attics and crawl spaces. The amount to be applied will vary with the site. Concentrate treatment at insect activity sites. For light infestations, a minimum of 4 - 6 bait points is recommended per 100 sq. feet of treatment area. For heavy infestations, a minimum of 12 - 24 bait points is recommended per 100 sq. feet of treatment area. Inspect bait placements and reapply when necessary.
Follow the instructions (found in the plastic bag) for inserting the plastic extension tube into the Avert Dry Flowable hand duster.
Let the hand duster lie across your fingers with your palm facing upward. Place your thumb in the middle of the tube or over the “R” in Avert. While holding the hand duster parallel to the floor and pointed away from you, begin to lightly shake the tube.
Continue to shake the tube between each “puff” to keep the powder in an airborne state.
For your first application, give the tube a few quick shakes, then a light but firm press of the thumb.
As the tube of Avert Dry Flowable starts to empty, you will gradually begin tilting it more and more downward. By following the shaking technique and the “parallel-to-gradual-tilting” of tube technique, you will be using Avert Dry Flowable at its peak efficiency.
Each 30 g tube yields approximately 200 bait placements.
Standard Application Rates:
4-6 bait placements per 100 sq. ft. – moderate infestations
12-24 bait placements per 100 sq. ft. – heavy infestations

This stuff works. Lost our house and due to now bad credit had to move into a crappy old apartment building. Turns out it had cockroaches and the Orkin guy that they have on contract is a joke. Being an old apartment builidng not sure how bad the infestation was. In the matter of sheer numbers, would only see maybe a couple at a time, but would also see them during the day which is a sign of a bad infestation. Also they were not treating the other apartments because no one fessed up to having them. Total BS. Anway, tried some gel baits from Home Depot and home remedies found on google. Was only seeing one or two a week by that time, but could not live with the fact that they were still there. After hours of internet research over several weeks, finally came across Avert Dry Flowable Cockroach Bait. Just sorry this treatment didn't pop up in my google results at the beginning! Great price and it arrived a day ahead of schedule. I used this in every conceivable crack or whole in this crappy apartment. I had seem them coming out of the molding in my sons bedroom as well as the door frames of the laundry room and bathroom in addition to the obvious spots in the kitchen. It comes with a little straw (think DW-40) and you just squeeze it in all the cracks and crevices. I took off every outlet cover and stuck it way in the wall and sprayed there. That was 2 1/2 weeks ago and I have not seen a cockroach dead or alive since!! Thank you AVERT! The product is supposed to be effective up to a year or more.
WOW!!! I cannot say enough about this product or this site. Product received just a couple of days after order placed. One tube was more than enough to treat my 4 bedroom, 2 bath home. I tried so many different products before: foggers, sprays, some gel stuff that turned a weird color and was hard to remove later, concentrated powder you mix that was supposed to be "professional strength". None of them combined has worked as well as the Avert did to get rid of German roaches and even a few of the large tree roaches! The next day after treatment I started seeing dead roaches, and each day since I have found more dead ones. I have seen less and less live activity and what little I've seen appears to be coming from areas I didn't treat initially (the attic and the garage area). It took a little practice to figure out how to get the powder to come out, but it was so easy to squeeze/blow into the tiniest cracks. Such a relief to finally find something that actually WORKS! I spent so much money on cheaper products, wish I had found out about this first! Plus, the DoMyOwnPestControl.com site was easy to find the information I needed, easy to place the order, and I received it quickly. Highly recommend!!!
Without a doubt the finest roach inhibitor available. Works in small, hard to get areas and, when used in conjunction with "Avert" liquid, rids the area completely regardless of the degree of infestation.
It is wonderful to be able to walk into the kitchen and not start chasing roaches with my fly swatter. The very next day I could see a big difference. They are mostly all gone now but I am going to bait them again to be sure. Wonderful stuff, this Avert!
Well the first day or two I was upset because I did not see not cockroaches dead ,,,but let me tell you,, this product work like magic..this is the first time that i write something about any product...I had so many roaches in my apartment that my wife . my daughter were getting upset....this is the way it worked,,, the first week it kill about half of the roaches,,, the week after 85% disappered and this is my third week and I only see one or two,, but those are going too,,, I just bought one avert,, and still have some left but soon I will order another one to have at hand,,, this product is amazing,,,,for the last two months I have been trying to kill all those roaches and all the products did not work,,, I tell anyone who read this ,,, this one work,, take it from me..I assure anybody who buy this product that by the second week you will be happy like me..that is all I have to say about this product.
Is Avert Dry Flowable Cockroach Bait just a bait product or does it kill the roaches?
Avert Dry Flowable Cockroach Bait is both a roach bait product and an insecticide. Avert Dry Flowable Cockroach Bait contains food based ingredients to attract the roaches and entice them to feed. It also contains the active ingredient, Abamectin, which will kill the roach that consumes the bait and other roaches that come into contact with the roach that consumed the bait.
Can you mix Avert powder with Gentrol Concentrate together?
No. Avert Dry Flowable cockroach bait cannot be mixed with Gentrol IGR concentrate. These two products have two very different formulations and they are not made to be mixed together. To make the application easier for your self you can choose to use Gentrol Point Source instead of the concentrate. Using Gentrol Point Source is as simple as squeezing the raised end of the plastic, adhesive-back device, no mixing or spraying required. This releases Gentrol IGR onto a filter paper. From there, it moves up to 75 square feet, that way roaches never need to come in contact with the device.
Our cat ingested a small amount of this that had fallen on the floor when our exterminator was here.
It was being put behind our electrical outlets. What toxic symptoms should we look for? Our vet wasn't very helpful and didn't know what dangerous chemicals the product contains.
The great news it that your cat should be fine if it only ate a small anount of Avert Dry Flowable Cockroach Bait. The residual and poisons in the products are only enough to kill something the size of a roach. A pet would need to eat large amounts of the bait directly to have an effect from the bait.
