The main difference is the amount of "knockdown" power that they have. Both products contain PBO, which is a quick knockdown product. CB-40 contains 1% PBO, and CB-80 contains 4% PBO. So CB-80 is considered to be a stronger knockdown product, basically meaning a quicker kill. You would want to use CB-80 for cockroaches and spiders, scorpions, etc. If you are just dealing with flying insects, CB-40 would be fine.

Is CB-80 Aerosol harmful to dogs?
Want to spray in home.

CB-80 Aerosol is safe if applied when the dogs are not present during the application and while the surfaces are wet. Once the treated areas are completely dried and the home properly ventilated, the dogs are safe to return inside.

How long should I wait before going back inside my home after spraying CB-80?
I have noticed that I have cockroaches in my home and purchased CB-80, the guy I bought it from said wait 3 hours but the longest it says to wait on the label in 30 minutes what do you recommend?

You can safely return to an area treated with CB-80 Aerosol - 17 oz. can once the area is dry, typically 30 minutes to 1 hour after application.

There is not a fogger that can kill clothes moth eggs and larvae. The eggs are pretty well protected and along with the larvae are in cracks and crevices more than out in the open. Fogging will only kill those insects that are out in the open at the time you set them off and do not get into all the areas that larvae can be found. You could use the CB-80 in cracks and crevices where the larvae could be and it will kill on contact only. Please refer to our "How to Get Rid of Clothes Moths" article for the best advice

I have a microfiber sofa that appears to be infested with bed bugs. Can I spray CB-80 directly onto the sofa in the tufts and folds to kill the bedbugs?

For instance, it would be okay to spray the underside (pull off the dust cover and treat the interior of the sofa where the bedbugs are likely to harbor), under cushions and interior seams and fabric folds. Spray a small inconspicuous area to test for staining. It is important to note that CB-80 does not offer residual control, so bedbugs need to be sprayed directly for best results.

Is there a spray that kills bed bug larvae? The CB-80 is great for killing mature bed bugs.

Bedbug nymphs can be killed by the exact same products that kill the adults. CB-80 offers a great immediate knockdown, but it does not provide any residual control of insects. We recommend using Bedlam for residual control of bedbug adults and bedbug nymphs.

Which contact aerosol product is the fastest kill for Roaches? For spiders?
My sister is having a roach problem in her apartment. The Germans type, I'm pretty sure. They (the maintenance crew) spray once a month but it seems to be infective. I've done perimeter and void dusting with Drione. Along with Phantom in the cracks under cabinets and where the powder is impractical. However, she has seen a couple more of them after treatment. Today she saw a spider as well. Is there one best fast kill for both? Or one specific for each? BTW, You all are the best place I've found to help with my own pest problem; scorpions. I fired the "professional" after finding your site and now am free of the stinging creepy-crawlies. Thanks so much!

Below you will find our best recommendations for eliminating roaches: We definitely think your sister will benefit from adding a roach bait and and insect growth regulator to your roach control program. Our Roach Control Kit #1 contains both of the products you will need to achieve better roach control in your apartment. We also recommend trying seal as many cracks and crevices as possible around the perimeter of each room to help stop having roaches move from one apartment to another.l

What is the best way to eliminate flies?
I believe we have common house flies(hundreds/day). I have a sprayer running day and night upstairs. It kills most of the flies coming in up there, but we still have many downstairs. I have two Flies Be Gone traps hanging outside. I do not believe they are really doing anything to help with the problem. We have set off fog bombs in our home also. We do live in an old home, but I am just wondering if you think using another fly product would help.

What you are describing actually sounds more like a cluster fly. Cluster Flies usually live outside during the warm spring and summer months, feeding off of flowers or fruit. As the cooler fall weather approaches, cluster flies find their way into buildings through small cracks and crevices. Once inside, the flies hide in clusters in dark corners, wall voids, and virtually any tight space they can find-- beneath curtains, behind pictures, underneath furniture, inside door and window casings, and under baseboards. These flies start becoming active and emerging flying around in the house when the heat kicks on or when the weather warms up. Like any pest, the best way to get rid of them is to stop them from coming entering in the first place. Now that they are already indoors your options are a bit limited. Use a vacuum hose to remove single flies or clusters of adult flies as they appear. A contact pyrethrum spray like CB-80 can be kept on hand and sprayed lightly as needed for contact kill.

Inspect around windows for live or dead flies. Any void where cluster flies are found or suspected should be treated using a residual dust insecticide such as Delta Dust or Drione Dust. Apply using a hand duster to any enclosed void including underneath baseboards and behind electrical outlets and window and door frames. Some enclosed wall voids in critical areas may need to be drilled, dusted, and then resealed.

A residual spray insecticide such as Suspend SC or Demon WP may also be used to treat areas where flies are frequently seen after they emerge in the spring, such as attics, basements, storerooms, closets, and other areas.
Fly Light Traps
Installing insect or fly lights in attics and false ceilings is an effective approach to dealing with cluster flies when the overwintering site cannot be determined. When the cluster flies "awaken" in the spring, a fly light will attract and capture a large portion of the cluster fly population before they are able to inhabit living spaces.

If CB-80 was sprayed in our bathtub, how long should we wait to shower? Should we clean after application?

CB-80 Aerosol should only be applied as a crack and crevice application not inside the bathtub. We would suggest cleaning with hot water and cleaning solution before using the bathtub.
