Cockroaches, Crickets, Firebrats, Silverfish, Spiders, and Ticks:
Apply as a coarse, low pressure spray to areas where these pests hide, such as baseboards, corners, storage areas, closets, around water pipes, doors and windows, attics and eaves, behind and under refrigerators, cabinets, sinks, furnaces, and stoves, the underside of shelves, drawers and similar areas. Pay particular attention to cracks and crevices; also see OUTDOOR USE.
Apply to any trails, around doors and windows and other places where ants may be found. Refer to BARRIER TREATMENT directions to prevent infestation; also see OUTDOOR USE.
Bees and Wasps:
Application to nests should be made late in the evening when insects are at rest. Thoroughly spray nest and entrance and surrounding areas where insects alight; also see OUTDOOR USE.
Boxelder Bugs, Centipedes, Earwigs, Elm Leaf Beetles, Millipedes, Pillbugs, and Sowbugs:
Apply around doors and windows and other places where these pests may be found or where they may enter premises. Spray baseboards, storage areas and other locations. Refer to BARRIER TREATMENT directions to prevent infestation; also see OUTDOOR USE.
Food Handling Establishments:
Places other than private residences in which food is held, processed, prepared or served. Nonfood Areas: Includes garbage rooms, lavatories, floor drains, (to sewers) entries and vestibules, offices, locker rooms, machine rooms, boiler rooms, garages, mop closets, and storage (after canning or bottling). Cynoff EC insecticide may be used as a general spot, crack and crevice treatment in nonfood areas. All areas where insects hide or through which insects may enter should be treated. Food Areas: Do not use in food/feed areas of food handling establishments, restaurants or other areas where food is commercially prepared or processed. Do not use in serving areas while food/feed is exposed or facility is in operation. Serving areas are areas where prepared foods are served such as dining rooms, but excluding areas where foods may be prepared or held. In the home, all food processing surfaces and utensils should be covered during treatment or thoroughly washed before use. Exposed food/feed should be covered or removed. Not for use in USDA meat and poultry plants.
Apply by brush or as a residual spray either by hand or power sprayer. Apply to surfaces of buildings, porches, screens, window frames, eaves, patios, residential lawns only such grass areas adjacent or around private homes, duplexes, townhouses, condominiums, house trailers, apartment complexes, carports, garages, fence lines, storage sheds, barns, and other residential and non-commercial structures, vegetation, refuse dumps, garages and in other areas where pests are found.
To prevent infestation of buildings, apply to a band of soil and vegetation 6 to 10 feet wide around and adjacent to the building. Also, treat the building foundation to a height of 2 to 3 feet where pests are active and may find entrance. Apply as a coarse spray. Thoroughly and uniformly wet the band area, using 1 gallon of spray mix per 400 square feet.
Cluster Flies (Calliphoridae spp):
Apply to the outside of the structure where flies are found. Mix 1 fl. oz. Cynoff EC to 10 fl. ozs. deodorized light weight mineral oil; apply to 1,000 square feet of wall area. Use a fogging apparatus which delivers the material in a strong air carrier, producing a small particle size (10-50 microns). Hold the nozzle about three feet from the surface to be treated. Apply when wind velocity is less than 2 mph to avoid drift. The surface to be treated should be dry at the time of application. Attics and unoccupied lofts should be treated at the same time and at the same rate.
CAUTION: Do not use water base sprays of Cynoff EC in conduits.
I had a Box Elder bug problem for the last 20 years. I have used several different products out on the market and have not found anything that would work. Since I have bought Cynoff EC and applied it to the surrounding foundation of my house the bugs have not returned. I am very pleased with your product and would recommend Cynoff to anyone having the same issue I have had.
We priced a professional and they wanted $150 for the first treatment followed by $60 every two months. In addition, they wanted everybody and all pets removed for 4hrs when they came for the treatment. I checked and this is the stuff they use. Easy to mix and use, not nearly as harmful as many products, and it seems to work great! Don't waste your money on the "Pros" just "Do My Own Pest Control!"
I have been fighting brown recluse spiders for almost two years. Most of my fight has been done by a "professional exterminator". After doing a lot of research on the brown recluse spider and pest control in general, I discovered that my exterminator was not using the best pesticide for spiders, he was not using an appropriate amount of pesticide and he was not applying the pesticide in a way that would create an effective bug-barrier. Prior to me taking on the spiders myself, the only dead spiders I found were in some of the 30+ glue traps that I have stationed around the inside of my home and in my garage. Since I have been doing my own pest control, the spider-count in the traps is down substantially and I am actually finding dead or dying spiders outside of the traps. Cynoff EC is a real killer. I use Cynoff EC inside my home because it is non-staining; I use Demon WP around the perimeter of my home and in the garage because it is a wettable powder and it has a little more staying power. Cynoff EC and Demon WP have the same active ingredients, but the Cynoff EC drys clear and the Demon WP leaves a visible residue on my wood floors. Both work very well against spiders.
So far, since spraying a week ago, we are seeing fewer spider webs. There are crawling insects laying on their backs with feet in the air. It looks like we have a good product here. We mixed it according to directions on the label. I was so pleased that it did not leave a white residue on the paint, screens and windows. This bottle looks like it will last a long time.
My mom lives in a trailer home and she had roaches. We tried all the over the counter items and could not get rid of them. This product really did a great job of ridding the home of them. The product is expensive to continue to use as a normal treatment product.
Will Cynoff EC leave a noticeable film on my dark siding?
I notice that several of the cypermethrin based products say they leave a powdery film on dark surfaces. I want to spray my dark gray siding where I have a massive stink bug infestation. Does this product leave a similar film?
Cynoff EC will not leave a white powdery residue on dark siding. The products that leave that white powdery residues are in fact wettable powders and all have the letters WP in the product name (Cynoff WP, Demon WP).
I need directions for mixing ratio for the liquid Cynoff EC concentrate.
Purchased the bottle last year and lost the mixing directions
The Cynoff EC is mixed at different ratios depending on the pest you are treating. Typically, you would mix 0.5 - 1 oz per gallon of water. Please be sure to read the Cynoff EC product label before using.
Yes Cynoff EC will kill Fleas and ticks in the yard. You want to mix 1oz Cynoff EC with 1 gallon of water. For best results, we recommend also mixing in an Insect Growth Regulator like Nyguard that will treat the eggs, larvae or nymphs - and prevent them from maturing into reproductive adults thereby controlling future infestations. NyGuard IGR will cause morphological anomalies or changes and disrupt the expected insects' state of development, leading to sterility or death. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
How long is the residual effect Cynoff EC expected to last?
Cynoff EC is a residual pest control product. When used indoors I would expect it to be effective longer than when used outdoors. I read that it should be applied every two weeks for proper control of fleas, but that seems like a very short residual effect. So, how frequently should I treat with Cynoff EC for control of ants, roaches and flies?
Cynoff EC can be expected to last up to 30 days outdoors and up to 60 days indoors. UV light and rain outside can deplete the residual outside, but UV light is the main culpret. If one side of your home is in direct sunlight all day, then you may only get 3 weeks out of the product. For fleas specifically it is a good idea to treat once and then again exactly two weeks later because fleas hatch every two weeks and your chances are better if the product is stronger than weaker. After the first two treatments you should be able to only apply every 30 to 60 days for maintenance control.
