    Q
How does Dominion 2L compare to Termidor?
    A

Dominion 2L and Termidor SC are both non-repellent termiticides. One of the features of a non-repellent is that the product is undetectable by pests--they walk over it and touch it without knowing it, and then they are able to transfer the product to each other eventually wiping out the entire colon…

    Q
Can I use Dominion 2L to treat ash trees for Emerald Ash Borer?
I have used other products which have 1.47% Imidacloprid appied at 1 Oz per inch circumference applied annually. At 21.4% I would think about 1 Oz per foot circumference would be more that adequate. Recommendations for this use?
    A

Dominion 2L is labeled to use on trees to help protect against boring beetles. Treatments should begin in May or June and should be done every year to protect trees from the Emerald Ash Borers. Most people use a 5 gallon bucket or a large watering can to apply Dominion as a soil drench. You will…

The answer to this question is also in our How To Do A Termite Treatment Article.  For your garage, porch, patios, or other contiguous slabs against the home, you will need to get the termiticide underneath the concrete against the foundation. To do this you will need a hammer drill with …

    Q
Why is Dominion 2L not to be used against imported fire ants, harvester, or pharaoh ants?
    A

Dominion 2L is not labeled to treat those ants because of a patent issue with another product. If these ants happen to be on the foundation when you apply the product, it will of course affect them as well. For patent issues though, the manufacturer of Dominion 2L cannot place those ants as a target…

Our most popular product is Dominon 2L for termite treatments.  You should treat the entire area before they pour the slab.  This is called a pre-treat.  You should apply the product at a rate of 1 gallon per 10 square feet.  Some of our customers also use a 5 gallon bucket and …

    Q
How do you use Dominion 2L as a soil drench?
I have several trees with different tree trunk diameters. I like to know how best to mix Dominion with water for each tree application. Example, one tree is 5 inches in diameter and an other 102 inches in diameter 1. what is the mix rate of Dominion and water per tree? 2. do you apply with a watering can for an even distribution? 3. Where do you apply, at the base of the tree or at the line of foliage? 4. What t matter if there is grass or other plants in the area? 5.Do I have to moist the ground before application and maintain moist thereafter?
    A

You will need 0.1 to 0.2 fl oz of Dominion 2L per inch of trunk diameter for trees at the base of the tree inside in the drip line. The amount of water that is used will vary depending on soil conditions and volumes that are easy for applicators to use. The minimum amount of water that sh…

    Q
I am out in southern Arizona, and we just had an inspection and we have couple of termite mud tubes.
I am planning on buying the Dominion 2L product. My questions are as follows: 1. We have two cement patios/porches that are about 5-7' wide-- do I need to drill or can I just apply the Dominion on the perimeter? 2. The termite company said they were going to spray something into the walls, and they called it an HP Mister? Do I need to inject anything into the walls? The walls are insulated so I assume the foam products wouldn't work. Is this an unnecessary step or is it just another layer of added protection? 3. Will the termite bait stations work if one of the mud tubes is coming up between a sidewalk and the stem wall? Or do I need to treat that with the Dominion 2L? Thanks for your help!
    A

Dominion 2L is a great product for termite control.  When treating slabs you are supposed to drill where the slab meets the house. The goal of any termite treatment is to completely surround your home around the perimeter of the foundation. To get the product against your foundation where you h…

    Q
Is Demon WP good for termites? If not, what product can I use to do it my self and save?
One of the walls of our dining area has some little holes, we noticed that they had like dirt and when we cleaned them, we left the little holes open, we saw them the first time about a month ago and now a second wall has the same little holes...they have to be termites!! I've used Demon WP all the time, I need to know if we can use it for these or if there's another product I can use for termites?
    A

Demon WP is a great product for all other insects, but it is not the right product for termite control.  You need a termite specific product.  Also, termites require a much more involved treatment than just spraying around the house like what you would normally do with Demon WP for other i…

    Q
Should I use Dominion 2L on indoor treatment?
I found active mud tubes in the house and in the basement on exposed beams. How do I treat these? Do I pop them open and spray the Dominion 2L right on the bugs, or do I spray the exterior of the tube? If Dominion 2L is not suitable for this, what other product do you recommend?
    A

You should definitely use Dominion 2L directly on the termites if you know where they are.  You would knock the tubes down and spray directly on the beam.  It also does not hurt to drill a hole into the beam and treat into the beam directly.  However, the bigger issue is that it sound…

    Q
Termites found in mulch bed, but none in house, which treatment is best?
While doing work in my mulch bed around my house, I found subterranean termites (workers and swarmers) in the mulch. I checked inside and outside the house and found no evidence of them inside the structure. What would be the best course of action in controlling the termites in the beds and to keep them out of my house? Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.
    A

For subterranean termites you should perform a liquid termite treatment in the ground around your home if you have not done so in years past.  When you do this it will protect the structure for a period of 7 years.  You can just spot treat the mulch area that you found, but that still leav…
