    Q
Can Fastrac keep rats from gnawing my car's electrical wires?
I have already had to replace the wiring for my car, and the rats have gone back to gnawing, as evidenced by new droppings. With what may I coat the wires? Does it actually work? For the record, we placed one of the feeding stations, loaded with poison blocks, under the car in an effort to deter them. It doesn't seem to be working.
    A

To protect individual vehicles you may want to consider using T-Rex snap traps beneath the vehicle and resting on the vehicle tires overnight. Tamper-resistant rodent bait stations loaded with bait such as Fastrac Blox will help reduce the level of mice and rats if there are more on the property to a more manageable level. These products can be purchased together in our Rodent Kits: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/rodent-kits-c-21_405.html.

We do also have rodent repellents which you could use around the area where a vehicle is parked to help deter rodents from this areas. Rat Magic is a granule repellent that could be spread easily around the area (do not use indoors such as in a garage).

    Q
Which stations will accommodate Fastrac Blox and Contrac Blox? Will the new Evo Ambush station work?
    A

Almost every bait station on the market will be large enough and designed to house any bait block including the Fastrac and Contrac blox. This would include the Evo Ambush for either of those baits if you choose to use them.

    Q
Will Fastrac in a tamper resistant bait station kill mice outdoors?
We have mice outdoors and I need to control them.
    A

Using Fastrac in tamper resistant bait stations is a great option for outdoor mouse control. Please take a few moments to look over our Mouse Control Guide for more information on treating and preventing this pest.

    Q
Do the remains of dead rodents put out an odor after consuming JT Apple Bait Block?
an alternative that is approved for use in California.
    A

Fastrac Rodenticide is a great fast kill rat bait that can be shipped to California.

After a rat consumes a lethal dose of the bait of any rodenticide it is possible that the animal can get into an area that is inaccessible making removing the carcass impossible. This can lead to a terrible odor and a secondary insect infestation. While you can bait indoors using a tamper resistant bait station, we strongly discourage it. Baiting outside the structure and using snap traps/glueboards indoors is suggested. If you choose to bait inside, please place rat bait inside tamper resistant bait stations and place the stations out of reach of non-target animals and children.

    Q
Do you have a poison that has a dessicant in it to reduce the smell from dead rodents?
    A

When using Fastrac Blox along with any other rodent bait, there is no way to pinpoint where the rodent will die. They could, unfortunately, die anywhere - under couch, in walls, etc. and there can be an odor. The only way to guarantee where the rodent dies is to use traps such as the T-Rex Traps or Victor Tin Cat Mouse Traps.

    Q
Can rodents spread the bait such as Fastrac Blox from a bait station?
I am concerned about the rodents spreading the poison from the bait station.
    A
If you are using the appropriate bait in the stations and mounting the bait blocks on the rods for the station you are using, then it should keep the bait in the station forcing the rodent to eat it there rather than leave the station with it. If using pellets, there is a chance they could bring the pellets out on the ground but normally this isn't an issue our customers run into a lot.

    Q
Need help getting rid of rats and mice in my yard
Hi, We just moved into our new home and there are outdoor animals everywhere. We have rats, ground mice digging up the grass, gofers and raccoon. We would like to start by getting rid of the rats and mice. They are eating into our plastic garbage cans and feeding from there. Can you recommend a product/program we can use to solve this problem? We already set small snap traps for the mice which were tripped by the larger animals and we put out 1 bait box from home depot for the rats which also hasn't been successful (we don't see any of the bait being eaten). We have kids and would like to make sure everything we use is ok to use around kids. thanks
    A
Fastrac Blox is an excellent bait to use for both the mice and rats. I will say though that if their food source has not been eliminated, they will not go after the bait. That is why the bait that you bought initially is not being touched. I would advise moving the trash cans elsewhere if possible and making sure they are not eating other things in the area. Also, to keep the bait away from the kids, I would advise putting it in a bait box, such the Protecta Rat Bait Station. These boxes lock, and the children would not be able to get the bait out of them.
