I have a St Augustine lawn and alkaline soil. Is this safe to broadcast on a existing lawn as long as I apply at reduced rates?

Its effective on the acidity of the soil will be completed 6 to 8 weeks from post-application. If the issues with your rose bush are caused by acid soil then this product would be very effective for you. If you are unsure what is ailing your roses you may want to have them diagnosed by your local master gardener prior to treating them with any products.

Martins Viper Insecticide would be recommended for Chiggers and is effective on many other common insects. The mix rate for Martins Viper Insecticide is 1/2oz. per gallon of water and can be used as a spray treatment outside as a barrier spray around the perimeter of structures, to plants, bushes, trees, shrubs, etc.

Can I broadcast spread Hi-Yield Soil Sulfur over my lawn and water it in to help lower pH level over time?
I know it's not a magic bullet but there are very few ways to lower pH safely on lawns without tilling.

Hi-Yield Soil Sulfur is applied to the lawn at the rate of 1 - 2 lbs. per 100 square feet. You will need to spade or mix into soil. With this being a slow acting yet long lasting treatment, it’s effect on soil acidity will not be complete until 6 - 8 weeks after application.

I understand it's complex, and so I might not get a straightforward answer; I have a pH of about 8 and extremely low soil salinity, if that helps.

An elemental sulfur product such as Hi-Yield Soil Sulfur will work best when it's worked into the soil directly since the product creates the acidifying effect when soil microbes feed on it. So while you can potentially apply an elemental sulfur and water it in lightly, you would see faster results applying it after aeration or vericutting. Be sure that you do not flood or overwater the lawn after applying sulfur, and do not apply soil sulfur before the soil is about 55 degrees consistently in the spring.

A product with gypsum such as Hi-Yield Fast Acting Gypsum contains water-soluble sulfate for more immediate effects on the soil. Gypsum also aids in plant recovering, water and nutrient retention, and loosening compact soils.
