HI-YIELD Triclopyr Ester is formulated as a low volatile ester. However, the combination of spray contact with impervious surfaces, such as roads and rocks, and increasing ambient air temperatures, may result in an increase in the volatility potential for this herbicide, increasing a risk for off-target injury to sensitive crops such as grapes and tomatoes.
Mixing Instructions
Add about one-half the required amount of clean water to the spray tank. Add HI-YIELD Triclopyr Ester and complete addition of water with agitation running. Mix thoroughly and continue moderate agitation while spraying. When this product is mixed with water it forms an emulsion, not a solution; separation may occur unless the spray mixture is agitated continuously.
Application Instructions
Broadcast Treatment of Ornamental Turf
Apply foliage sprays during warm weather, early spring through fall, when weeds are actively growing. Apply 1/2 to 1 quart of HI-YIELD Triclopyr Ester per acre in enough water to control broadleaf weeds actively growing in perennial bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, or tall fescue. Only emerged weeds present at the time of application will be controlled. Apply using equipment that assures uniform coverage of the target area. When treating mature plants or hard to control species, and for applications made during drought conditions, use the higher rates of HI-YIELD Triclopyr Ester. Applications made under drought conditions may provide less than desirable results.
Magic on Wild Violets
By Adrienne on 04/25/2017
I've been fighting with wild violets for about three years, tried a bunch of different products. Sometimes I'd knock them back a bit, and sometimes I'd knock the grass back a bit, but overall it was getting worse each year. This stuff works!! My only disappointment is that the violets were dead within a week; I would rather they had died a slow painful death, screaming for their mommies like little girls :) I used a pump sprayer. In 2 gallons of water I put 3 tbs Hi-Yield and 2 tbs surfactant. I sprayed just until the weeds were wet. I didn't use that blue marking dye but next time I'm going to try it. With so many violets it got hard to keep track of where I sprayed, and I missed some. Between the ones that I missed and the new ones that popped up since I sprayed, I'm going to have to do a second round. But at least now I'm winning the war. Die, you violets, die, die, die!!

Truly a Great Product recommendto me by an ag Lab
By Justin on 09/08/2016
Here is the thing it is 1 TBSP per gallon per the supplemental documents, which is 3 TSP = 1 TBSP. Get yourself a medicine measure from an old cough syrup bottle and dedicate it to herbicides (NEVER use it again for medicines or anything else). I used 1.5 (1 and a half) teaspoons and mixed it up in a dedicated sprayer with half a gallon of distilled water (it is free of all contaminants). From there I added 1 teaspoon of non-ionic surfactant for herbicides (because the product I used recommends 2 TSP/ gallon and I mixed up half a gallon.) Lastly, a blue dye that recommends 1oz per gallon. Two tablespoons is an ounce; hence one (1) tablespoon was what I used for half a gallon... In a gallon sprayer I put a nozzle on it that atomizes the spray and pumped to high pressure. Worked great completely curing my lawn of creeping vine Charlie and surges. I have Centipede grass which is a riskyer lawn to use this on per the instructions, but I had no lawn damage whatsoever on my TiffBlair type Centipede warm-season grass in West Columbia, SC. Your results may of course vary from mine which was 100% elimination of the weeds with no lawn damage, but I think most critical is the instructions by the manufacturer realizing that this small bottle is a potent product not forgiving in that you must measure accurately in teaspoons per gallon unlike diluted homeowner products. Alway wear the appropriate PPE and do a test spot to verify you have things dialed in.

Damned Wild Violets!
By S. on 05/26/2014
Nothing I have tried previously has worked on these things; Trimec, 2-4D, some others I can't spell :) A few days after application I was weary that this wouldn't work either, but after a week there was noticeable change. Looks like this did the trick!

Works Perfectly!
By Steve on 03/30/2014
Prior to my purchase of Hi-Yield, I had only bought the "other brand" of Turflon. For the uninitiated, this is the only product safe for killing bermudagrass and several other invasive grasses from your otherwise beautiful lawn. It kills many noxious weeds without destroying a nice Marathon lawn, for instance. The price I paid for this was a bit less expensive than the other brand and worked just fine.

Oxalis control

Hi-Yield Triclopyr Ester is not labeled as safe to apply over juniper.
Unfortunately, there is not an herbicide available that would remove the ground ivy from around juniper that would not also potentially harm it. The best thing for this area is to wear gloves and carefully hand pull the ivy or you can carefully spot treat with a glyphosate-based product such as Gly Pho-Sel Pro 41% with Surfactant, avoiding contact with as much of the juniper as you can.Was this answer helpful to you? Hi-Yield Triclopyr Ester will kill the creeping charlie. As far as your grass, that would depend on your grass type. If it is a cool season grass like Fescue, it might discolor it but it should recover. It would not be broadcasted across any warm season turfgrass

i need to spray Triclopyr Ester to kill creeping charlie. I also need to spray weed and feed on my lawn. does it matter which one I spray first, and how long do I have to wait between treatments?
You can apply either the Hi-Yield Triclopyr Ester or the weed & feed first, it is up to you. You would want to wait 2-3 days between the application of the two products

Hi-Yield Triclopyr Ester could damage nearby desirable trees or plants if it were to contact them or the root system. We would not recommend applying this product at or near the dripline of any desirable trees/plants.

Why is the recommendation to not use a surfactant when applying to lawns, when there is nothing in the label that indicates such a recommendation or guidance?
Hi-Yield Triclopyr Ester is an oily product that is known to burn lawns therefore the addtion of a surfactant will increase the risk of burning and injuring turf.
Please view the product label for more information.
I am trying to be as safe as possible and have read that Triclypor is safer than 2 4 d for pets and humans. What are the other ingredients that make up this product?
Do I need to mix with a surfactant/basal oil if I am going to use Hi Yield for basal bark treatment of buckthorn?
Just wondering if this will kill youpon holly and if so, what is the best ratio to mix and how to apply? This will be on a fence line and not worried about surrounding grass/plant damage as the only desirable plants along the fence line are large pine trees.
No, Hi-Yield Triclopyr Ester cannot be used on St Augustine grass.
