Mosquito Control Kit - Professional is safe to apply to all non edible plants. Key with mosquito control is to apply to the underside of the leaves where the adults lay during the day.
It is not required to use a surfactant with any of the products in the Mosquito Control Kit - Professional, but adding one may increase the effectiveness and help them stick to waxy leaves better.
The products in our Mosquito Control Kit - Professional should be applied when no rain is expected within 24 hours so the same applies with irrigation systems and watering. For mosquitoes key is to apply to the underside of leaves on trees/bushes which is there the adults lay during the day, as well as shady areas. You would not treat entire areas of the lawn that are in full sun as it is not habitable for them there.
You can apply Bifen and Tekko once a month. Exciter is only a knockdown product that is used when you want to kill insects out in the open during application faster and can be used once every 7 days
The products in the Mosquito Control Kit - Professional will have a shelf life of 3-5 years if stored properly in a temperature stable environment (between 45 and 75 degrees) and out of direct sunlight.
You will use the Mosquito Control Kit - Professional every 30-60 days as needed during warmer weather. Mosquito activity normally begins after temperatures start to exceed 50 degrees F.

As long as the sprayer applies spray like a regular backpack sprayer or mistblower you can use the products in the Mosquito Control Kit - Professional. If it puts out sprays more like a fogging machine or ULV fogger, you cannot use it with the kit. We recommend contacting the backpack manufacturer to see what type of output the machine has.

Unfortunately, there are no good answers for black fly because they are not attracted to fly traps or fly baits and there is no way to stop the larva from developing. You may want to check in with your local department of agriculture to see if they have any advice for you.
The insecticides (Bifen IT, Tekko Pro & ExciteR) in the Mosquito Control Kit - Professional may only provide partial control for black flies if applications are made where you see the flies land. The residual insecticide in the Mosquito Control Kit, Bifen IT however is labeled for biting flies, house flies, gnats, mosquitos, and many other insects. It is a great general purpose outdoor insecticide to use mixed at 1 fl oz per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft. Please view the product label here for more information.
According to the most restrictive product label in the Mosquito Control Kit – Professional:
Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning/ maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables exist, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from other laundry.
You should always remove PPE before entering living spaces or sitting on furniture, or use shoe covers if you must enter the home or other sensitive areas.
We would recommend our Mosquito Control Kit - Professional. The kit contains products with different active ingredients that target different stages of mosquito development for the most thorough population control. This kit contains two insecticide concentrates, an Insect Growth Regulator, as well as a larvicide so that you can treat both land and standing water. Exciter Insecticide contains natural pyrethrins and Piperonyl Butoxide for a quick knockdown of adult mosquitoes, while Talstar P offers residual protection on mosquito resting areas. Tekko Pro IGR prohibits the development of immature mosquitoes, and Altosid Pro-G is a larvicide to treat standing water or areas likely to flood. Apply spray solution to adult mosquito resting areas, including ornamental plants such as dense brush, tall grasses, and especially the undersides of leaves on trees and bushes. Also treat resting areas on structures such as under eaves or other overhangs, under decks and porches, and in other moist, shady areas where mosquitoes may rest or breed.
Talstar P is also a great residual product for fly control. Please see our Flies Pest Guide for more information.
