Do the bait blocks expire or go bad?
How long do the bait blocks last?

A

Once a pail of rodenticide has been opened, the bait will remain effective for a year if kept in the airtight bucket in a cool, dry place. As for blocks that are placed in a bait station, we recommend changing out the bait every 30 days.

Do Mice Build a Resistance to the poison in Place Packs and or Bait Blocks?
It seems like an annual occurrence where the mice come back every year when the weather gets cold. This time, I am having a very difficult time. They are ignoring the packets, they are wary of the traps. I used different traps with cereal as bait held in place with peanut butter. Also used an electronic trap. Got 8 in traps so far. And 2 bait blocks are being eaten. The ones caught in traps were small maybe juveniles and there are 2 different size droppings. I think the Mommy and Daddy are teaching the kids what to avoid.

We recommend changing to a bait with a different active ingredient so that you will have fresh bait and you can avoid any issues with resistance. We also recommend you inspect your home very carefully and seal up any holes you can so you can exclude the mice from entering your home in the future. You should also purchase tamper resistant bait stations (with a high quality bait) to use around the perimeter of your home so you can eliminate the mice outdoors before they have a chance to look for a way in. Do I just get one Protecta RTU Mouse Bait Station key per order?
I see it says one key per order, I am looking to buy 6 cases of these would I get 6 keys (1 key per case order) or will I only get the one key for all 6 cases

What should I do if my dog chews on the Protecta RTU Mouse Bait Station but doesn't get it open?

We would recommend relocating the Protecta RTU bait station in an area that is not as accessible to your animals to avoid any issues in the future. Unless the openings are chewed shut or the station will not close, there is no reason to replace the station.

Professional baits that we sell are not available in quantities less than 4 pounds unless you are purchasing the pre-baited disposable station, the T1 Mouse Bait Station. If you're needing to bait outdoors, then you may want to consider our kit containing the Protecta Mouse Bait Stations and Fastrac Blox. The Protecta Mouse holds up to 4 bait blocks in each station. You can also purchase the Fastrac Blox on its own.

Can I attach a brick or paver to the bottom of the Protecta RTU Mouse Bait Station, or will that make it less effective?
I want to make absolutely sure that no non-target animals can easily tamper with the station. I've read you can epoxy the station to a paver. Good idea?

The Protecta RTU Mouse Bait Station are plastic bait stations that house rodent bait. Mice will go inside of the trap, consume the bait and go elsewhere to die. Be mindful that these statins come empty. The bait inside of the bait station in the photo is a size reference. We generally recommend using Contrac Blox with the bait stations. This bait does have an antidote associated with it that is available at your vet in case a non-target animal comes in contact with it. I want to purchase pellet paks but don't want it to make a mess when the mice open it and start feeding.

Currently use the four block stations and chipmunks get into them.

It is possible that chipmunks could enter the Protecta RTU Mouse Bait Station. There are not any other options we know of since mice and chipmunks can be close in size. You may contact Your Local Cooperative Extension Office to see if there are any ither recommendations for your area.

Are the Protecta RTU Mouse Bait Stations waterproof? If water gets inside the station, will the bait leak to the surrounding area to where a dog could lick and ingest the bait? Would heavy rain cause the bait to submerge in water?
