Snapshot Weed Preventer is a professional-grade, selective pre-emergent herbicide weed preventer that provides control of listed annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in landscape ornamentals, ground covers, perennials, non-bearing fruit and nut trees, container grown ornamentals, non-bearing vineyards, field-grown ornamentals and non-cropland.
Snapshot Granular Pre-Emergent Herbicide works by targeting germinating weed seeds and preventing them from breaking through the soil surface. Snapshot bonds tightly with soil particles and is low in water solubility, to ensure that it stays within the intended application zone.
This TG formulation features an easy-to-spread granule, which delivers the active ingredient into the soil fast to control your toughest weeds.
Snapshot 2.5TG, a dual active pre-emergent for ornamentals, is labeled for use in a wide range of ornamental and non-crop landscape sites, including:
Landscape beds, landscape ornamental beds, shrub beds, flower beds
Container-grown & field-grown ornamentals
Groundcovers/perennials (when established)
Christmas tree plantations
Non-bearing fruit trees & nut trees, non-bearing vineyards
Non-cropland areas listed on label
Snapshot 2.5 TG Weed Preventer should not be used in lawns for weed control. See the product label for full application site details.
Snapshot pre-emergent herbicide is known for broad-spectrum prevention of many common landscape-bed weeds, both grassy weeds and broadleaf weeds. This isxoaben trifulalin pre-emergent controls over 120 weeds including:
Aster, barnyard grass, annual bluegrass, bursage, wild celery, chickweed, clover, crabgrass, cudweed, cupgrass, fiddleneck, filaree, fleabane, foxtail, henbit, horseweed, junglerice, knotweed, lambsquarters, mallow, mustard, nightshade, wild oats, panicum, pepperweed, pigweed, pineappleweed, plantain, purslane, wild radish, ragwood, London rocket, shepherdspures, sibara, smartweed, sowthistle, speedwell purslane, Russian thistle, witchgrass, bittercress, brassbutton, wild carrot, chickweed, dandelion, foxtail, galinsoga, eclipta, groundsel, geranium, ladysthumb, prickly lettuce, lovegrass, marestail, mayweed, morningglory, pennywart, ryegrass, spurge, tansy, woodsorrel, brome, barley, burclover, cheat, datura, dogfennel, fescue goosegrass, jimson weed, knotweed, kochia, turkey mullein, burning nettle, bristle oxtongue, scarlet pimpernel, sandbur, signal grass, stinkgrass, sunflower, swinecress, bindweed, carpetweed, johnson grass, milkweed, and shattercane.
If weeds are already actively growing, Snapshot will not kill or control the weeds. You will need to remove the weeds first using a labeled post-emergent herbicide weed killer, then apply Snapshot to keep the next wave of weeds from coming back.
Snapshot Specialty 2.5 TG is a granular herbicide that should be applied with a granular spreader.
Step 1: Prep the Bed Pull existing weeds or lightly cultiviate first. Snapshot only prevents new weeds from seeds. It does not control established weeds.
Step 2: Spread Evenly Use a drop or rotary spreader (or a hand-held whirlybird style spreader for small beds)
Step 3: Water It In Snapshot needs about 0.5 inches of irrigation or rainfall to activate the active ingredients. For best results, it should be activated within 3 days of application.
Pro Tip: For even coverage, apply half the needed amount in one direction, then the other half crosswise
If you need help dialing in your spreader settings, check out our video on How to Calibrate Your Spreader.
