Unfortunately, neither Talon G Rodenticide Pellets nor any other rodenticide will prevent decaying dead rodents from producing an odor. The mode of action of Rat X rodenticide may reduce odors from dead rodents, but it will not eliminate it on its own. Because there is no guarantee as to where rodents will die if they have consumed bait that is indoors, we recommend to limit bait use to outdoor areas. Indoors, using traps allows you to remove dead rodents, eliminating that risk of secondary problems like bad odors and insect infestations. The pellets are instead packaged into place packs that the rodents will chew through to get to the pelleted bait inside. Popular choices include Fastrac Place Pacs and Contrac Rodent Place Pacs.

Talon G Rodenticide Pellets does not state that it can be used for burrow baiting on the product label.  It should only be used within tamper resistant bait stations.  A light pole would not be considered a man made structure.  Examples of such structures include homes and other permanent or temporary residences, food-processing facilities, industrial and commercial buildings, trash receptacles, transport vehicles (ships, trains, aircraft), docks, and port of terminal buildings and related structures around and associated with these sites.
