Depending on weather conditions we suggest giving the product anywhere from 2-4 hours to fully dry. If rain is in the forecast within the next 4 hours we would suggest waiting for drier conditions.

How long after the stump is cut is an application of Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide viable?
I realize immediately is preferable but I'm following loggers and can't do it the day of cutting or day after due to weather.

Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide would be best applied as close to cutting the stump as possible, but you can do it the next day if needed. You just want to be sure it is applied to a fresh cut stump, not one that has been cut weeks prior.

Can Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide be used on stumps that were cut 2 months ago? Would it still be effective?

A

Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide is best used on freshly cut stumps and ensuring the cambium area next to the bark gets thoroughly wet. We would reommend either drilling holes into the top surface of the stump or cutting off the top layer of the stump for a fresh application.

Tordon RTU was applied to some bush and tree stumps. We are now seeing wilting of other bushes and perennials
Is there anything we can apply to amend the soil and stop the damage?

A

Since the active ingredient in Tordon RTU is known to leach into the soil, we recommend digging 6 inches deep srrounding the affecting bushes and perennials and replacing it with fresh soil.

Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide tree injection treatments can be made in any season per the product label. We do not recommend applying any herbicide when temperatures are below 55 degrees. Please refer to the product label for complete instructions.

Which is the better product to remove bradford pear tree stumps and kill suckers? Fertilome or Tordon RTU?
I saw the Fertilome Stump Killer (active ingredient: Triclopyr) and the Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide on your website. Just wondering which will be the most effective stump/ sucker killer for some Bradford Pear trees that we have cut down. There are several triclopyr-based herbicides and wondering which one is the best for this application.

I have just had 20 trees cut from my yard three days ago. The tree gentleman that cut my trees down used it on my Cottonwood.

Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide is a ready-to-use product that is effective in cut surface applications for killing unwanted trees that are listed on the product label and preventing undesirable sprouting of cut trees. This product is best applied to fresh-cut stumps, so you can either make a fresh cut or you can drill new holes and then apply. Please keep in mind that untreated trees/plants can occasionally be affected by root uptake of herbicide through movement into the topsoil or by excretion of the product from the roots of nearby treated trees. Do not apply Tordon RTU within the root zone of desirables unless such injury can be tolerated. Tordon RTU is NOT for use on residential properties. Application Methods: Tree Injection Treatment: Use 1 milliliter of undiluted Tordon RTU solution through the bark
completely around the tree trunk at intervals of 2 to 3 inches between
edges of the injector wounds. Make injections near ground level when
using the tree injector or 2 to 4 feet above the ground when using a
Hypohatchet Injector or similar device. Treatments can be made in any
season. Maples should not be treated during the spring sap flow. With
some difficult to control species such as dogwood, hickory, sugar maple,
bigleaf maple, tanoak, and some firs, application to a continuous cut
rather than to spaced cuts may be more uniformly effective. Frill or Girdle Treatment: Make a single hack girdle or "frill" of overlapping ax cuts through the bark
completely around the tree as close to the ground as feasible. Spray or
paint the injured surface with undiluted Tordon RTU, using enough volume
to wet treated areas. Stump Treatment: Spray or paint the cut surfaces of freshly cut stumps and stubs with
undiluted Tordon RTU. The cambium area next to the bark is the most
vital area to wet.
