The first thing you need to know when using an herbicide such as Tupersan WP is that the exact amount of water you dilute it with is not important. It is only important to make sure you are using the correct amount of product per 1,000 sq ft of lawn. Use too much and you risk damaging your lawn, use too little and you will not get adequate results. You will need to use 1 1/2 oz - 9 oz per 1,000 sq ft . To decide how much water you want to use, you should mark a 1,000 sq ft area, fill your sprayer with water ONLY, and start walking and spraying just as if you were doing the actual application of herbicide. When you are done walking and spraying the 1,000 sq ft area note how much water it took you to spray that area, and that is the amount you will want to mix 1 1/2 oz - 9 oz of product with for each 1,000 sq ft area that needs to be treated. You will need to make sure treated areas are irrigated with at least 1/2 inch of water (either by rainfall or by sprinkler) following the application.

What to use to kill Bermuda grass in landscaped areas?
I want to keep Bermuda grass out of my garden, that is surrounded by my lawn. My thought is to use this around the edges of the garden. Is there a smaller package available for small applications?

If you are looking to keep Bermuda grass out of landscaped areas, then your best option would be to use Fusilade II which kills grassy weeds selectively, or to spray a barrier of glyphosate around the perimeter of the bed as well to keep grass out. It is also recommended to use an edger to cut off grass encroaching into the beds. Tupersan is more for broadleaf weeds out of turf grass, and you need something that kills turf grass.

Is Tupersan WP in 4lb paper bag 10 years old still effective?
I have 11 bags-It has been stored in the original cardboard box and kept very dry. Would it still be effective? What is the shelf life?

Tupersan 50 WP is labeled for Bermudagrass suppression into creeping bentgrass greens. Per the product label: "Greens established with creeping bentgrass may be surrounded by bermudagrass collars and aprons...The selectivity of Tupersan Herbicide can suppress the bermudagrass encroachment without injury to the bentgrass. Tupersan Herbicide can be applied as a band treatment along the perimeter of the greens to suppress the stolon growth of the bermudagrass. Use 1/2 - 1 pound of Tupersan Herbicide per 1,000 sq. ft. and apply in a 8-12 inch band with a single nozzle sprayer. Schedule the initial application during March or April and continue with subsequent applications at the same rate at 4-5 week intervals." Keep in mind that Tupersan is a pre-emergent herbicide and will not kill exisiting bermudagrass. You should also test a small area before broadcasting over a large area as not all cultivarrs of Bentgrass have been tested with Tupersan.

Per the manufacturer Tupersan 50 WP Pre-Emergent Herbicide can last up to 4-6 weeks depending on the amount of rainfall received in the area. You can reapply 4 weeks after an initial application if needed.

After the seeds from weeds have warmed up they germinate rendering the pre-emergent applications useless. If you are past this point, Post-emergent weed control applications will need to be used.

I keep having barnyard grass coming up in my newly seeded lawn.

I live in the Pacific Northwest (Portland Oregon area). I just have my lawn hydro-seed last weekend (3/21/2015). I believe it was Fescue. Not sure which type, or if there is any other cool season grasses mixed in it. Can I use this now to prevent crab grass? And will this have any effect on Poa Annua?
