The manufacturer does not label Advion Roach Bait Gel with an expiration date but is good for up to 5 years. We recommend that you use the bait within one year from the date of purchase to ensure freshness. Be sure to store the bait in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight.

What would happen to the cat if they ingest Advion Roach Bait Gel?
I have a cat at home, and I saw in one of the questions that the gel should not be place where a cat might reach it. So I am wondering how sensitive is this potential hazard to pets.

How do you know when a bait is not working ?
I purchased/applied Advion Roach Bait Gel bait about a week ago, and I'm not seeing any roaches that are attracted to it. I have smokey Brown Nymphs and i tried hand feeding one and it just wanted nothing to do with it. one thing I think I've done wrong is contaminated my baits with Talstar pro. so I've placed the baits where i have not sprayed. Ive just ordered the Maxforce FC Magnum in hopes that they will like that. Nymphs are supposed to eat this/ be attracted to baits when younger right ? Ive also purchased a birth inhibitor which i plan on mixing with my Talstar but I'm afraid of contaminating my baits again. any help would be appreciated. i just cant seem to get rid of these nymphs and i know the big boy stage is on its way.

Roaches will always ignore baits that have been contaminated with insecticides, perfumes or even cigarette smoke so it is important to keep the bait away from these contaminants. Roach bait gel should be placed in small dabs directly into cracks and crevices in cabinets, drawers, around sinks, counter tops, in food cabinets and any other area where you are seeing activity. Talstar + Gentrol on the other hand should only be sprayed around door frames, window frames and directly into cracks and crevices around baseboards and in cracks and crevices around utilities (cables, pipes, wires) that enter through the wall. Never apply the products in the same exact area. It is also important to make sure the kitchen and surrounding areas are spotless each day while you are trying to eliminate the roaches. Leave no crumbs or dishes in the sink at night, take out trash every night, and make sure all counter tops are wiped down thoroughly. One week is not enough time to determine if a roach bait gel is working. You need to give a bait severeal weeks to see if you notice a difference in a roach population. Heavy infestations can take several months to get rid of no matter what products you use.

That is completely untrue. Advion Roach Bait Gel contains indoxacarb which when picked up by the roach is then transferred back to the other roaches wherever they may be producing a domino killing effect.

Did I receive the wrong item of Advion roach bait?
I received my order of Advion cockroach gel bait. I was under the impression that I'd receive the DuPont red and black label. What I received is Syngenta Advion Blue and Green labeled cockroach gel bait. Is there a difference between Advion cockroach gel baits, be it Syngenta or DuPont?

The Advion Roach Bait Gel should be applied in very tiny dabs in places where the cat cannot access. For the product to be harmful to your cat they would have ingest a large amount of the product. If you do apply the gel correctly in tiny dabs, the cat should not even notice it. Tiny dabs meaning less than half the size of a pencil eraser. Places to put a tiny dab of roach gel are places where roaches can sometimes congregate. Common areas for roaches to hide are: hinges of door frames, around the door frame, along the side and underneath of any cabinets against the walls (tiny crack where they meet the wall), inside corners of cabinets and drawers, underneath the lip of the counter top every 8 to 10 inches, corners of window frames, behind and underneath any appliances like dorm fridges, microwaves, etc.

Will Advion roach bait gel harm my cats if they eat roaches that have eaten the bait?
There is no way that I can stop my cats from eating them. I only ask this because I caught one doing it! I am worried.

The very minute amount of Advion Gel the roaches may eat is not enough to harm your cats. Be sure when putting the gel out that you do put the gel into cracks and crevices and other places that will not be accessible to your cats.

I have roaches running around inside my kitchen drawers where I store my silverware. Can I spray?
Ccan I spray in these drawers and let the product dry and then be safe putting my utensils back, I feel like this is where the roaches have a safe haven because I am still seeing many many of them and they are running around inside these drawers. You can use a high quality roach bait gel such as the Advion Roach Bait Gel to treat areas where spraying would not be appropriate (counter tops, cabinets, drawers, around dishwasher, a/c vent). The roaches will consume the bait and then go back to their nesting area and spread the bait which will help eliminate the roaches more quickly than spraying insecticides and IGRs alone. Getting rid of roaches is not a process that only takes only a few hours. Moderate roach infestations can take a few weeks to get rid of and severe infestations can take several months even when using all of the products needed (insecticide, IGR, roach bait) and sanitation is up to par.

I got a mild infestation (2-4 roaches seen a day) that I treated with boric acid. After a week a stopped seeing roaches (german). I am thinking, as a preventive measure (to complement boric acid) to apply Advion on some strategic locations at my kitchen. Use Advion Roach Bait Gel indoors as a crack and crevice treatment to control even the toughest of infestations. Advion cockroach gel should be applied to areas frequented by cockroaches such as between different elements of construction, between equipment and floors, openings leading into voids and hollow spaces in floors, walls, ceilings, equipment legs and bases, around plumbing pipes, doors and windows, and behind and under appliances, cabinets, sinks, closets, and any other equipment that cockroaches are typically known to hide. Advion cockroach bait gel is excellent for German roaches as they are the most common indoor infesting roach. Advion roach bait gel should be used in conjunction with Insect Growth Regulators, such as Gentrol Point Source Stations, for even more complete control of all life stages of cockroaches. For light to moderate infestations of cockroaches, apply 1-3 spots of Advion cockroach gel bait per 10 linear feet. Each spot of Advion gel bait should equal about 0.5 grams (approx. 1/4” diameter)

There is no set guideline on how often you should rotate the baits. A lot of professionals will use the same bait as long as they are seeing good results. When the results start to falter, they will then switch to a new material with a different active ingredient. We also recommend that you treat the home with an insecticide and insect growth regulator (IGR). I have included some great articles below that will help guide you with the treatment.

Should roaches dead from Advion be left around kitchen or can I clean them up?
I thought the affected roaches would take the gel back to their nest and die, then the dead roaches would be ingested by other roaches and die. But, I see the roaches dying in my kitchen. What should I expect. Heavy infestation but not many have died yet after 2 days.
